Persona 5 Tactica is yet another spin-off of Persona 5, but this time around it is a tactical turn-based game hence the name. The story takes place between Persona 5 (also Royal) and Persona 5 Strikers. The Phantom Thieves get transported to another metaverse, in which they find themselves in Kingdoms and their tyrannic rulers and it is up to them to bring revolution to these worlds.
"If you want peace, prepare for war."
Pros:

As always, the opening is damn good. Revolution in your Heart captures the game's genre and sets up its theme and narrative exceptionally well.
The story is quite interesting, it is still about standing up to yourself and to firmly hold onto your desires, but in a revolution kind of way. This spin-off also introduces many new characters that are well-written.
Especially Erina and Toshiro

As you progress throughout the story, animated cutscenes will play that can be either 3D or ...

i strugled to love this game, but mechanics are poor and camera taking random positions is infuriating

Crashes randomly and very frequently. Eventually I got to a level that literally caused a crash no matter what I did. Extremely frustrating getting bricked like that and can't believe I actually played as long as I did anyways. Several complaints like this in the bug reports thread with no patch to fix it. IDK why this game has this issue as the other ATLUS games have been fine.

Can't lie, this game felt more of a puzzle game than a tactical one. You are basically just looking for the best position to trigger a Triple Threat the whole time. It is a cool translation of Persona's All-Out Attack, but it falls a bit flat due to the lack of enemy variety, It becomes repetitive. Personally, I did enjoy and found it satisfying. The core mechanics are solid, especially the freedom to move after a knockdown and the ability to freely change a unit during your turn. The new adult cast is cool, they remind me a bit of Zenkichi. Their characters really benefit a lot from the game's toony, chill and silly vibes. Awesomesauce villains too... GREAT pickup during sales. Still W to those people who day one this 70 bucks game since this is the best Persona 5 game!!! P5T > P5S > P5R > P5X > P5 > P5D

Persona 5 Tactica marks an ambitious and refreshing spin-off from the beloved Persona series, taking the franchise’s iconic characters and deep narrative roots and placing them into a tactical RPG framework. Departing from the traditional turn-based JRPG battles the series is known for, this game embraces grid-based combat that demands strategic planning and thoughtful positioning. For longtime fans, this shift offers an intriguing new way to engage with the Phantom Thieves and their world, while newcomers can appreciate a polished, challenging strategy experience infused with Persona’s trademark style and story-driven focus. At its core, Persona 5 Tactica blends tactical gameplay with the series’ hallmark narrative depth. The story introduces a new threat within a mysterious realm, drawing the Phantom Thieves back into action. As with previous Persona titles, the narrative is rich with character interactions, plot twists, and emotional beats that elevate the stakes beyond simpl...

I personally liked Persona 5 Tactica, while its yet another Persona 5 spinoff game I thought it was unique. its definitely not perfect but I'd say its worth it if the gameplay sounds interesting to you and you like the Persona 5 cast. The gameplay itself is pretty good, while it can vary in difficulty a lot I really enjoyed it. Figuring out the solutions to the levels and getting a max score was always pretty fun. Although I definitely had to look at the solutions online for some of the levels/quests. The game itself is on the short side though compared to other Persona games, at roughly 30 hours long for the main story + all side quests. The story itself is like your typical Persona 5 type story, it felt really similar to Persona 5 and Persona 5 Strikers but it was still really interesting. The two new main characters are both really loveable and learning their stories/getting to know them was something I looked forward to while playing. Not to mention I love spending time with t...

The story is really boring. In Persona 5 Royal, rebellion works because the villains are harming real people the player actually cares about
like your teammates
so you feel motivated to fight back. In Tactica, the NPCs are just little cartoonish figures with no human forms, often repeated across different worlds with no unique design. I personally felt far less motivated to “save” them from whoever was committing atrocities. New characters like Erina or Toshiro have flat motives and weak character arcs, poorly written compared to the Royal cast. As for gameplay, I kept pressing “J” to skip the dialogues, but then it’s just the same combat over and over. The maps change, of course, but there’s almost nothing new in the game mechanics, so it quickly becomes tiresome. With both story and combat being mediocre, there’s really little reason to play. When I played Royal, I would carve out hours from my life just to play day and night until I finished it. Wi...
