I want to like this game but it doesn't tell me anything. The only info I get is that something is wrong but no information on what I might be able to do about it and then everyone is unhappy including me.

The game's concept and art design are very interesting and unique. Speaking of unique concepts, playing as if you are one of the citizens/minions in a colony sim game and taxation/economics are probably the most distinct things about this game. However, those concepts are also the banes of this game. Controlling a character in this sort of game really makes it difficult and tedious to manage a colony above a certain size. Sure there are some ways to mitigate that, but it still is too tedious and want to kill your character. I could get on the concept if there was something cool or clever by controlling a character, but there is nothing really compelling. Something like the mouse icon being a hand in Dungeon Keeper, which can slap your minions to work faster and pick up minions or gold, would have been somewhat of a similar concept with vastly superior function and execution. For economy, it isn't bad in itself, but the information and tutorial for it is vastly lacking. Coupled with the...

It's a nice game, just don't think it's a easy/cozy one just because of the graphics. You have to plan your economy including the taxes for your ratizen in order to get the game running. Ratizen receive wages as well as buy and sell products from you, Therefore you have to balance out your personal savings against their ones, since they get unhappy if they can't fulfill their needs. Besides that, there's also some survival ongoing with regular raids on your city, as well as 4 different dungeons, each with it's own mechanics. So once you've got into the basics, it's easy to sink 100h and more into the game. The world also gets generated procedural on game start, so no 2 runs are going exactly the same. As a little hint for beginners: once you unlocked the Rules, set up a welfare rule to hand out 100 pia for each ratizen with less than 150 pia. This prevents you 99% of the time from the event that a ratizen comes to you and beg for money, because they are to poor to buy stuff.

Overall the game is great fun to play but with a horrible learning curve not gonna lie the tax system is kind of bad like I shouldn't need to look this up to figure it out. Also It's very punishing for a first time around requiring multiple playthroughs. A lot of people hype this game up but it's very falsely advertise your never given a moment's break to actually think on what to do. Only way I was able to do anything was to make it custom diffuculuty

I have fallen deeply in love with this game. Some parts of the game can feel a bit clunky, like combat or changing the target block on controller, but it's a very lovable and enjoyable game. There are a lot of different things to balance which can be a challenge. Overall, this game is fun and has taken over my life.

I think this is a very cosy, enjoyable village/colony sim with adorable rat villagers and some surprisingly complex mechanics to deal with.
The Usual

Villagers migrate in, have wants and needs - hygiene, recreation/joy, sleep, food
Villagers are unemployed and function as default "build stuff" or "mine stuff" or "collect stuff" population, until....
Villagers are employed (by you) and produce goods and services at designated buildings that you place down and build (with or without their help, but you can just place down the schematic and they'll get to work if you have unemployed mice)

The (Surprisingly) Complex Mechanics

Villagers have their own money! They earn wages, purchase goods and services (yea, they PAY for stuff, like in a real economy, wild stuff!), and also cost YOU money when you order them to do stuff! Nice!
Additionally, they can get upset and resort to crime if you leave them jobless and...

Prob One of the best political sandbox games i have played and a decent colony builder. Its a proper sandbox with a lot of nooks for folks to poke into and some interesting learning to know for fun constructs. I think the only problem is its expectation for you to specialize with its tight pop cap but that's a very personal preference & its designed well around the pop cap. I think few games can say that in a silly way. I have played a good 3-4 rts games that really didn't use it well. If i could Suggest anything it would be to highlight those specializations more which it seems they are doing by chipping away and adding features to the various Specs in the game. They seem like good developers. (a bit more specific of an ask may be for a robot other than a ratron for combat)
