This original game was released 16 years ago. I've destroyed quest rewards and chests on accident. I've destroyed immature plants on accident. Game progression is confusing and unclear. This is a game where you'd best use a walk-through guide for. Don't ever buy this full price, get on sale. I received a quest from the quest board called "Oh, I forgot?". After an hour of going around and buying and giving stuff to Rusk, I had to go and google the answer. Apparently I had to have unlocked many game progression features before I could have been able to complete this quest. Again, this is a game that I feel requires a guide to play through. At least, in order to minimize frustration.

Really enjoyed RF3, the port is pretty good and it ran great on my Steam Deck. Very wholesome, fun, cute, adorable, charming game. My only experience with the series has been RF4 and a tiny bit of Frontier so I can only really compare it to 4. While I still think 4 is a way better game and the (mechanical) regressions are something to get used to, it's still a fantastic game in its own right. Haven't played the original version either so I cant really comment on the changed VO or dialogue but I thought the writing was decent and the new VAs fitting (I did try to listen to the original VAs and I still think I prefer the new cast). I know this might have been too much of an ask but it would have been nice to have an added female protag option (I know that'd it'd require new dialogue and scenes and other work) and I understand why its not here, just would have been cool. I hope they do a special version of Rune Factory 1 & 2 and maybe even port over Frontier and Tides of Destiny eventuall...
