About This Game

Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.
It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead…and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.
As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.
Enjoy your stay.

Key Features

Feel the Heat in New Vegas! Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles! A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
New Systems! Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase “up close and personal”. Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.
An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns! With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.
Let it Ride! In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it’s all in how you play the game.

Ok, I’m going to guess that 99% of players on Steam have already played Fallout: New Vegas—it’s an old game, to be fair—so I’m talking to the 1% who haven’t. It’s one of the best RPGs ever made, and that’s coming from someone who mostly plays RPGs. I’ve played it more than just a few times over the years, and every time I had a blast. This year I even managed to get all the achievements—finally! Feels good, dude. It just has so many possibilities. You can be almost whatever you want in this game—you can even be a literal psycho cannibal if you want to. Crazy, I know. Honestly, the only bad thing is that it crashes a lot, which I understand can be a deal-breaker. It’s a very old game and doesn’t run great on modern PCs (though maybe that’s just a problem with mine, I’m not sure). It also has plenty of bugs—seriously, a lot of them—but even with that, it’s still an amazing video game that everybody should at least try. I mean, come on, how can you not...

Somehow never gets old... the golden era for Fallout can't skip it. Be prepared to stay for a while and keep coming back when the new stuff doesn't cut it. 10/10

New Vegas is a game I was mixed on when it was released in 2010. Having had my expectations of what constitutes “Fallout” set by the divisive third entry, I chafed hard against the slow pace, the invisible walls that felt omnipresent, and the decidedly shoddy technical state the game launched in that stopped my progress dead for weeks at a time while waiting for patches. Since then, I’ve matured a lot as a player (and hopefully as a person but I’m less sure there). After spending a lot of time exploring the RPG genre, both classics (including the first two Fallout titles) and contemporary gems, I’ve grown a little out of touch with the perspective that defined my first time playing the game. Up until recently I’ve regarded F:NV as an overrated nostalgia-title propped up by people who haven’t played better and more interesting games. Upon replaying it, I realize this was uncharitable, and I’ve developed a lot more of an appreciation for what Obsidian accomplished here. ...

One of my favorite games of all time, this game lives deeply embedded in my soul. I love it so much, nothing i can type can convince you to play it. If you want to fight a Bethesda game to run on modern hardware it will be worth your time <3

This game is basically unplayable. In the last 10 hours on a vanilla game with no mods I had no less than 20 crashes. Completely random encounters, some in buildings, some outside, some wandering, some in fights, some in load screens. Some were complete game crashes, some were stuck in loading screens where I wasn't able to even open task manager. Only way to exit without computer restart that I found was to ctrl alt del, sign off account, and on the screen that says "cant shut down because of these programs" you quickly press cancel before it shuts down windows anyways. Was one of my favorite games as a kid, I don't know how I played for 60+ hours before

Can I...play your game? Yes...you can do that. Can I...save your game? Sure thing Little Buckaroo! There are 1000 save slots, have at it! Can I...quit playing for a while, come back, and load my saves? Well...no. But you can get stuck in our Roulette Wheel loading screen for all eternity, with no ability to quit, exit, or close short of a force restart... It just works.

Fallout: New Vegas is one of the greatest RPGs ever made but only because of the community. Without mods, this game is practically unplayable for most modern players. Constant crashes, frame drops, stuttering, and engine issues make it obvious that neither Steam nor Bethesda has lifted a finger to maintain this title. It’s been over a decade, and the fact that community modders had to build unofficial patches just to keep the game running says everything. Consumers aren’t asking for much we just want a game we can actually play without digging through NexusMods for hours. Either release a proper remaster, or finally patch the original so it runs on modern hardware without collapsing every 20 minutes. Right now, the message being sent is that Bethesda and Steam don’t care about preserving their own legacy titles and that’s shameful for a game as influential and beloved as New Vegas. The community has done its part for 14 years. It’s long overdue for the developers and publis...

It's an oldie but a goodie, definitely worth the price especially when it's on sale :3 Just beware of the crashes, especially if you mod it to work with those in mind of course, as most people do.

I know you've most likely heard the stories about this games awful crashes and performance, you may think, "It cant possibly be THAT bad" Well it IS that bad, honestly even with multiple performance mods, its still unplayable. Enter a building? CRASH. Not have your settings tuned to whatever the daily graphics option the game feels like requiring to not crash upon entering the game, OOPS CRASHED I am not joking, it is actually a lobotomy to play and its unplayable. The game sometimes can crash around every 20 minutes if your unlucky. But these arent normal crashes, these FUCKING CRASHES DONT LET YOU CLOSE THE GAME YOU HAVE TO RESTART YOUR WHOLE ASS COMPUTER. The gameplay is actually decent but the devs just left it in this pathetic state, this isnt just a specs things either, this game doesnt discriminate, you could have a NASA supercomputer but this dumpster fire of a game would still lobotomize your computer

Played entirely on my Steam Deck, the game runs smoothly for me. Only a few times the game would close all of sudden but it rarely ever happened to me. As for the game itself New Vegas is my personal favorite. It's been out long enough that you can read more detailed reviews here or watch game play videos on it.
