Role-playing games are all about stats and numbers, unfortunately the developers instead of making the game more interesting make it more difficult. The maximum hitpoints of ships are constantly decreasing, and their repair is expensive and possible only on an island in the corner of the map. This feature was not in the previous titles and there is no warning about it, there is no mod, no option to remove the constant decrease in the maximum hitpoints of ships.

About This Game
Inspired by Sea Dogs series and Sid Meier's Pirates!
Welcome to the Caribbean in 1654 AD, a place teeming with opportunities and mysteries. What initially appeared to be a simple family matter quickly evolves into a lifelong adventure.
Immerse yourself in the tale of a noble brat who rises to become the most influential figure in the Caribbean. Riches, titles, power, and romance – the ultimate booty awaits, and it's up to you to seize it all.

Embark on a 200-hour-long journey.

Freeplay, rush through the story, or combine both - you're the Captain, and your ship will sail where you command.
Experience a historical narrative with a touch of mystique.
Explore romantic interests and companions.
Choose from various career options, from general-governor to pirate baron.
The Caribbean Sea – a realm of dozens of islands and cities, a grand archipelago shrouded in mystery and secrets. From the summits of Indian pyramids to the ocean depths, unique rewards, quests, and curiosities await. This open world is your sandbox, you are free to explore it and shape your legend as you see fit. Your decisions determine where to go, what to do, and who to take with you. Subdue the New World or it will destroy you!

Owning a warship is a privilege, a symbol of status and luxury. You are among the very few who can afford such grandeur. Begin your journey with a simple sloop and work your way up to commanding a ship of the line or even a fleet of these formidable vessels, ready to plunder cities at your whim. No one will stand in your way. Tired from leading massive armadas and the responsibility? Take command of a fast Frigate or Corvette and just free roam the Caribbean. In moments of tranquility at sea, relish the stunning views, embrace the sense of exploration, or navigate in the heart of a storm.

Command dozens of ships representing the glory of the Age of Sail.
Customize, paint, upgrade, and repair your vessel.
Engage in unforgiving yet enjoyable naval combat.
Experience intense boarding action, from the upper deck to the captain's cabin.
Collect unique vessels to rule the seas.
Manage booty distribution, morale, and the threat of mutinies.
Assemble a formidable team of officers.
Captains are most vulnerable when they set foot on land. Surviving naval combat can be challenging, but at least you won't die alone – your crew will stand with you till the very end. Land battles are different: dishonest, ruthless and risky for you and those who you hold dear. Bring your companions with you, poison your weapons, study the terrain, craft deadly items, and confront thugs, soldiers, pirates, and rivals head-on.

Tailor your character's build – become a heavy swordsman, a nimble rogue, a master sharpshooter, or a silver-tongued diplomat.
Equip yourself and your companions with a wide array of swords, axes, rapiers, armor, muskets, and pistols.
Craft amulets, ammo, potions, and always be prepared for battle.
Seek out challenges – the more you fight, the stronger both you and your character become.
Command military operations from raiding to sieges.

I want to be clear that when the game is working, it's pretty dang fun. And if they could fix just a couple of things, I'd one hundred percent recommend the game. The story is pretty good, even if it is hard to remember the mountains of dialogue all of the time. And the naval combat is really satisfying if you get the hang of it. But there's simply some things I just can't forgive. Bugs that make it so you can't progress and horrible save systems, and sometimes these meet each other for one big middle finger to the player. Unless you are saving at every possible moment you can, prepare to have multiple occasions where you lose hours of progress. You're given what appears to be a ton of save slots at first glance, but then when you realize that something you did 4 missions ago drastically messed up what you needed to do now and you had to save over it, you realize that either you're stuck and have to figure out how to get yourself out of that mess because the game rarely clues you in o...
I enjoy this game. For me, it definitely scratches the itch that Sid Meier's Pirates created. Is it perfect? No. Do the graphics feel dated at first? Yeah. There are a ton of things about it that could be better, but there are enough things about it that are good that in not too much time, you lose yourself in the rhythm of it, and you will find yourself always pushing to the next port, the next mission, the next horizon, trying to make that perfect score. (So much so, in my case, that I missed out on some of the early quests you have to do before lvl 15 because I was off chasing that gold. Oops.) At this point, I'm almost 500 hours into my first playthrough, so unfortunately, I'm in no position to start over for the sake of trying version 1.5.0, though I do like the look of the updates (and I'd love to go for DLC Ships Packs 3+). Maybe next go round. P.S. I never played Sea Dogs or the other games that led up to this game. You don't have to. Maybe some jokes or na...
I would not recommend getting this game at a full price if you ever played any Sea Dogs game or Pirates of the Caribbean game from 2003. It's mostly the same thing. And in case you never played any of the aforementioned games I would definitely not recommend picking this one up at all. At least not yet. The game is very dated gameplay and graphics wise. There have been some changes made, but this still feels very much a mod for a 20-year old game sold in 2025. On the positive side, it is technically way more solid than any Sea Dogs game you can realistically play today. It runs well on modern systems, supports high resolutions and has UI scaling. It crashed maybe three times over 100 hours of gameplay, which is good by modern standards and especially by standards of other games in the series. There are some QoL features here and there that really help. But you can only really appreciate them having experience playing Sea Dogs games. There is a Workshop support and, believe me, you wa...
The product images prominently feature female player character's, but these are not available in the game. The developers should remove the female character images from the promotional material until they become available. I cannot recommend this game until this problem is fixed and I think that other potential buyers should be made aware of this serious deficiency before deciding whether to buy this game.
This is the best pirate game ever. You can do so much, upgrading ships, manage a fleet, smuggle, pirating, trading, capturing ships, boarding and the ship battles are great fun and realistic (i dont know how real ship battles is supposed to be but I'm certain Caribbean Legends' ship battles are more realistic than Assassin's Creed Black Flag's fast paced battles and other similar pirate games). I bought this because I absolutely loved the old pirates of the caribbean game from 2003. This is exactly the same but less buggy, bigger world, and everything has just been improved. Great work done from the guys in Kiev.
Best game in the pirate adventure / sandbox / RPG genre
Its great
Once you actually learn to play, the game is GREAT, live them pirate dreams baby!
Hard end on what should be a survivable encounter after apprx. 20 hours of game play. What I assume is a mutiny, though I don't remember hiring a dozen red coats (one of which loves to shoot you in the face with a musket the second the battle loads) occurs at sea. You spawn dead center of 6 of the mutineers, they're all pretty tough but not impossible to defeat, that is if you could move, maybe reposition to an advantageous position. Instead besides being surrounded by bad guys, your own body guards prevent you from moving out of the kill zone. Reminds me of that scene from Scarface. Anyway after about 30 attempts I just kinda gave up, not worth the aggravation and I don't know why you'd start a new game when this is a possible outcome. There's a lot I can forgive in these old games, but unavoidable, game ending, bad mechanics aren't one of them.
