I am really torn on this one. Steam really needs to add a neutral recommendation. I am only going negative because of some big misses by the devs. misses: - no graphics setting. You have wide screen monitor? forget about it, you will be playing the game with black on both sides. - zoom needs to go out more. On some of maps you can see maybe a 1/3. You really want to see the whole map with the pathing. - clicking on new tower base should not move the camera. Many times when you do this, your view will be obstructed. - the game is grindy, which I am ok with. Like run a map 50 times grindy. game speed increase max is 4x, this needs to be much higer... at least 8x, maybe 16x. - Alt. recipie is system is super confusing, needs better tool tips - Automation layout feels clunky, needs work Hits: - Automation & Tower Defense genre!!!! this game has a ton of potential - Feels fairly well balanced - Releasing a demo was a great move Devs, please add wide screen support. I love the...

About This Game
Explore different planets and defend against a mysterious alien race, that seem to reproduce endlessly and eat up whole planets.
Make use of the latest Nanite technology to process and refine all resources you find into useful materials for earth or new equipment for your towers.
As an AI you learn from everything you do and become stronger and better.
- Gain combat experience and skillpoints that you can use to improve your towers. Each tower has it's own skilltree with up to 250 points to spend!
- Learn recipes to craft various materials, items and also equipment for your towers.
- Improve your crafting abilities and effiency to use less resources while having
more/better/faster output. - Discover more about the aliens and learn to craft special beacons, that attract much stronger species that may also yield much better rewards!
- Expand and improve your base to become a reliable resource hub for earth.
It's the year 2249, most resources on earth are nearly depleted and have lead to many conflicts in the past.
Despite those crises, humanity made huge progress in the fields of AI, which in turn allowed for enormous advances in space travel.
Scientists were even able to create a new kind of engine, which made it possible to travel faster than light. But on the downside humans were not able to survive this way of transportation.
In a last desperate attempt and in search for new resources, the EIRO (European Interstellar Resource Organization) built a brand new ship which was only controlled by an AI named "Athena".
Hoping that the AI can survive the jump and begin autonomous exploration and exploitation of resources, the ship is launched into an unknown future...

This game's setting feels like it holds on stitches and duct tape. You have to craft then build every facility for the factory part yet towers in the 'defense' part come from nothing. Resourses are physicalised in factory part yet are just numbers in defense part. Production and logistical capacity of your factory has zero effect onto your defensive capability, it does somewhat affect resource gathering speed in defense through single-use beacons and defensive capacity through one-time crafting receipts but neither actually require a factory, just manual crafting. Factory is technological, defense part is against magical golems that arrive via magical portals and teleportation. On top of that there are balance issues and unholy amount of grind and waiting, I was doing pretty much every 'attack' at 8x speed and it's still slow. 'beacon mastery' achivements in particular feels like pure grind. Individually both tower defence and factory parts are significantly below average. Can't rec...
First of all, it must be said that the game is still at an early stage. Nevertheless, the developers have been very busy in the last weeks and months and show that there is a lot of potential in their game and from what I have seen and experienced so far, I trust them to exploit it completely. The idea to be able to skill towers separately is not a new one, the depth in which the towers can be skilled on the other hand is something that I have not seen in any other TD game. The hub world with the possibility to process and craft resources automatically is also clever. This also opens up a lot of potential. All in all, I've had some fun and sometimes tricky sessions so far.
This game is no fun at all. What a HOT MESS! As far back as 4/2023, other reviews mention how grindy this game is. Guess what? 9 months later it still is! Way too much of a grind to accomplish anything useful. Very tedious. Also, user interface needs to be redesigned as it works against you. Either my computer must be too fast for this game or the devs don't know what they're doing (or both) because when an info screen is presented, it goes away after 1-2 seconds and I can't read it completely. Mentioned this in Discord and the devs "basically" said too bad. This game overall needs a LOT of work to be even remotely enjoyable. They need to work on their attitude also. Don't even bother with this one unless you like being frustrated while playing. Response to the devs: As you can see I have over 900+ games and even though I haven't played them all, I can safely say this game is the absolute worse of the ones I have. Oh, and I played a few more hours and the Outpost stage is just as...
Rough around the edges.... Diamond in the rough.... Edit after playing some more: (Devs I have wishlist / recommendations at the bottom of the review) - I expected somthing like Mindustry, DSP, Factorio, etc. - This is more like the old Warcraft 3 TD games where you need to figure out how to approach each map and wave. Plan your building sequence with your limited money. - This is the Distant Worlds / Dominions of the tower defence genre -> Crazy amount of features and UI is a struggle. But if you push through and learn it is damn REWARDING and FUN. No game breaking bugs or crashes. Needs polish and some QOL stuff.... learning curve / unlocks is confusing (objectives helped). that said.... - I like the random range (which isn't punishing like other games) - Unlocking and progression is fun - Maps are good with a nice verity. - Towers and Customisation/Builds is fun. - Factory building is fun but feels like it is a 'extra' not sure but I am almost at the last planet and didn't real...
I am 7 hours in so far and the game has been a blast! Big fan of Tower defense games and this game is quite addicting. Love the ability to automate resource production, it's like two games combined into one. So if you are a fan of factorio definitely also give it a go! Devs seem very dedicated, reported a bug and immediately got a response and a bug fix done in no time. Game is in its early stages but looks very promising.
What is Project Astra Dominium?
This game combines elements of crafting, resource management and tower defense. You basically ‘attack’ another planet and defend yourself with towers. Each killed enemy will drop a resource (depending on the planet). Once you’ve finished your mission, you can use those resources at your home base to craft and upgrade stuff. You can even automate all of your crafting. As of right now, the only goal you have is to get all Steam achievements. There isn’t a final goal in the game, and in theory you can grind even after reaching level 1,000.
Who is Project Astra Dominium for?
Don’t make the mistake and see this game as an actual automation game like Factorio. Instead right now most gameplay is on the tower defense. And even that part of the game isn’t really balanced or polished at all. So if you’re really into tower defense games, and you don’t mind playing a game with not a lot of content (as of right now), it’s a gr...
If you like the Factorio and Tower Defense games, then this is the game for you....well, almost. You know, once the devs fix the game a lot. It's not really worth the current coin they are asking but with some fixes and changes, it could be a potential winner! Early access and that means that the game is kinda at the caveman level and needs a lot of work still. I will provide a list of suggestions on what could be done to improve it, however, I am disappointed that the testers did not pick these up to begin with. 1. Tower Load-out Screen: There is no explanation on how to upgrade or craft items for the Gun Tower Chip. Where do you even find these chips? We obviously need these for game play and to be able to send to earth, but where do we buy or craft these from. This is a red flag and needs fixing asap. 2. Tower camera centering: During game play, selecting a tower makes the camera move all the way over to that tower and centres it on the screen. Can you create it so that a ...
This game is trying to be a lot of things and it doesn't do any of them particularly well. It's not a bad game, it's just not quite there in terms of good. I think the ability to set your traps where you want, rather than the linear chosen spots is what this game is lacking to truly be great. So far this game offers nothing that hasn't been done better by other games. I'd like to give this a neutral rank but it is thumbs up or down, so it gets down. A copy and paste ability for the little factory area would be great too.
