ROADMAP

A Note from the Developers

Hi everyone! We are LIFUEL, the development team behind Ovis Loop. We are a small team of just three developers, working closely with our wonderful community to build our first game.

If you enjoy fast-paced dynamic combat and satisfying, side-scrolling roguelike action, we hope that you’ll join us in Early Access, to hit the Loop and protect the flock.

While Ovis Loop is our first development journey, we are committed to using our in-depth understanding of action art and our knowledge as players, to develop a high-quality game that you can love as much as we do.

We’re looking to provide continuous two-way communication throughout the Early Access period – while adding new content and optimising all areas of the game. But in addition to this, the community (and your feedback) is so important to us, and we really hope that you will come on this journey as well, to help guide Ovis Loop to its 1.0 launch.

We hope that Ovis Loop delivers a fun, engaging and worthwhile experience, and we hope that you will help us to create this together.

About the Game

Step into a world where combat never has to go the same way twice. Engage the lupine enemy in dynamic combat, with responsive and precise battle controls.

Find a host of ferocious enemies, ranging from the smallest minions to hulking monstrosities – with an army augmented by the despicable Doctor Wolf.

Unlock new weapons, skills and abilities to pick up on each run, but Protectors beware! One wrong move and while Omega will persist through death, any modifications collected will be lost as you hit a new Loop with a fresh loadout – it’s time to steel your woollen form, and protect the flock.

After defeating enemies, players will download and evolve critical skills to help you fight through the Loop. Rather than just acquiring new skills, Ovis Loop gives you the choice between passive and active upgrades for each skill.

Decide to buff the skill you have, or add an additional chained skill to carry on carving your way through Doctor Wolf’s minions. Our skill and combo system allows you to play your way. Focus on strengthening just one skill, or embrace the dynamic force of the chain, it’s up to you.

Each Alpha enemy and Doctor Wolf’s augmented monstrosities provide increasingly difficult challenges as you progress through the Loop. As well as harbouring secrets about Ovis Loop’s world and inhabitants, they also learn from your own playstyle.

Whether you like to charge in, use area of effect or dive in and out, each boss will adapt to meet your challenge. Focus on dodging and find a boss that aggressively pursues. If you prefer to rush in, it’ll retreat to find space.

You define the battle, but each Loop is designed to test you with more than simple pattern recognition. Overcome each challenge through intuitive action and a build that works for you.

An unconventional story, maybe, but this is not the tale you have heard before. As well as powerful new skills and abilities, you’ll uncover secrets about Ovis Loop’s post-apocalyptic world and (more importantly) about our hero Omega. Become the Shepherd, protect your flock, and delve into the mysteries you find in each Loop.

Ovis Loop is the chronicle of just one lone sheep, trapped in a brutal, looping war with a lupine enemy. In this fight, you must stand alone, but Ovis Loop gives you the tools to succeed, for those with wool made of steel.

Game is AMAZING its literally everything i wanted albeit quite buggy in some aspects like the fact that when you close the game it still somehow stays running??? I have to actually stop it via steam. Some interfaces also just dont work initially until you like spam them a few times or jump in and out of them but outside of that the games incredible Ive been waiting for this one forEVER and i do not regret hopping onto it for early access.

Great little action Rogelike. Combat is very fluid and being able to dodge out of animations is a nice touch. Excited to see where this goes.

I think this game is very good and very promising. I don't have detailed feedback yet since I'm only on Alert 2, but it deserves a positive review.

It's really fun so far! Sometimes the boss animations are hard to tell where they're attacking. But the skills and combat feel great and are interesting.

One the funnest, most satisfying games I've ever played in the genre. The authors frequently mention that it's early access, but this is definitely a full ass game and worth every penny. Quick, nimble, crunchy combat that reminds me of classic Guilty Gear in a platform brawler. An insanely addicting skill-building system that lets you be as unga-bunga or galaxy-brained as you like and rewards you for either. Allows you to make builds that feel like you're breaking the game then makes you need it with the crushing difficulty later. Incredible character designs and overall vibe. Alpha is as adorable and dopey as he is bad ass and destructive, all the NPCs, enemies and bosses are full of fun personality. Will really do something for kids who grew up with Megaman X. I love it. I love it alot. I had been following the development on Twitter the last few months and my expectations were exceeded on all fronts.

Nifty little action roguelike with nice art. If you're someone who's crazy about action roguelikes you will probably enjoy this one. It's a bit of a love child between Skul, One step from Eden, and Dead Cell. You have different starting weapons and a sizable amount of skills and abilities you can grab each run, and you can definitely spiral into OP territory with the right combination. My only real fuss with the game is readability can be a bit messy sometimes. There's a lot going on, a lot of enemies you'll be killing, and it's easy at times to get smacked randomly by an enemy you weren't even paying attention to. The dodging is very forgiving, but it kinda ends up feeling a bit like spam dodging sometimes rather than intentional, and some of the boss readability can be a bit lacking too. Despite that though it controls very well and it feels great to decimate waves of enemies. It feels nice to see your build direction pay off and get that tasty roguelike luck, and while I'm not fo...

Really great rogue like, some of the abilities could be tweaked for better flow, but in general its a very solid quick beat em up style with you building out your gear as you go. Heck my highest victory so far was just spamming as much Lightning as I could which was pretty hilarious.

I'm really enjoying this game, even in early access it's got quite a bit of polish already. The sprites are all detailed and well animated, combat is fluid and fun, and the difficulty is brutal but fair. The world-building and story bits are unexpectedly deep. If you enjoy Dead Cells, Entropy Effect, etc. this game is a natural recommendation. It checks all the boxes for a fun roguelite. The music and sound design are also outstanding. Some abilities you get are very powerful, and the game does a good job at communicating that when the thunder cracks and minions blow up all over the screen. It's very satisfying, and the game is not even done yet! The "just one more run" itch will hit you hard.

the combat is super fun and the skill combos can make for some really cool runs. I would recommend this game for any fan of action focused metroidvanias.
