Fantasy Survivors

I have to unfortunately give this game a thumbs down, even though I really want to like it. On the surface it's a multiplayer focused Vampire Survivors game with a ton of characters and meta-progression. However in playing it is just full of unfun design decisions. The game prioritizes "Survivor Levels" as the gameplay mechanic locks. But you need 25 achievements to unlock the first set of additional mechanics. Which can take anywhere from 7 to 10 hours. During that time you'll start to realize there are only really about 5 weapons, and every other weapon is a clone of the original but with a different model. Then the other realizations start happening. Enemy hitboxes are much larger than you'd expect. Your weapon hitboxes are smaller than you'd expect, even after leveling them up. Meta upgrades are more expensive then they really need to be and characters really have fewer differences then you want. I love the game, the care that the team provides for their game and their close communication with the community. It's always fun to try out new builds and ways to improve or discover synergies. Thank you for the ongoing effort to keep us pleased, entertained and hyped.

Fantasy Survivors, a survivor-like that gives you nothing you'd generally expect from a game in it's genre. PROs: - It's multiplayer - It's cheap. - Once you have enough gear, you can set a loadout, to reduce the amount of garbage items you'll get offered. - The dev is still working on it, I guess? CONs: - There's no lobby system, 1 friend has to start a run and then wait for the rest to join. - It's only balanced around multiplayer, the singleplayer experience is horrendous. - You can't get some wild level of attack speed and turn into a blender. - You can't make your projectiles or abilities multiple times the size of your character. - All aoe weapons have a target cap(?). - Even the swords have a target cap, with a horrific attack animation that struggles with any form of y axis movement. - I can't say for certain about all characters, but every character I (and my friends) have unlocked so far has been through pure rng, you have to just run a level enough and hope you get gear...
