Absolutely wild game, Has huge amount of upgrades to your ship that combine in different ways so the runs always feel different. I'm constantly driven by monkee brain to see how far I can push some aspect of my build and the game never disappoints. A run finishes in 20 mins so perfect for hopping on and off but there is also massive replay value with unlockable modifiers to make the runs more intense in a variety of ways. The Dev is releasing quality content quicker than whatever live service you have a blood pact with right now so I don't really see why you are still reading at this point, get the game and if you regret it then report my steam account for suspicious activity (actually don't pls <3 )

Very fun and rewarding to get good at, with a nice amount of depth to all the weapons and ships
Space Mercenary Defense Force is a super fun and creative take on the hoard survival type of game. You start with a basic auto-targeting laser, and then every level up you can upgraded your ship, laser, or add a module to one of four directional slots on your ship. The direction of the modules do matter, and it adds an interesting strategic element - should I place my attack facing the rear, to better handle the hoards of enemies that try to chase you down, or facing the front, to tackle the dangerous bosses more easily? Then once you've added a module, you can further upgrade that module on future level ups. Upgrades can often follow different paths, meaning even if you pick the same module it can feel different in a new run. Should I make my laser flaming or ionising? Once you've chosen some modules and upgrades the enemies will start to ramp up, and you'll have to survive 20 minutes and defeat all the bosses that appear at set intervals. I really like how the game is on a 20 minute...
This is SPACE VAMPIRE SURVIVORS. AND IT WORKS! The Idea works great!! The sound and music choice the developer used is Great! Perfect. The Graphics are good for this type of game. The Upgrades offered when playing helps speed things up and cause more damage to more enemy's. The Controller works great with this. The only thing I have to complain about is It starts off very slow as far as movement of the ship but thats why you have to upgrade during the game, and upgrading comes up with the menu automatically and way too often, however that does not ruin the game at all. This is a great game, A great Idea. Great Replay Value. I hope this game gets out to many gamers out there, this game works, the idea works. KUDOS to the Developer. Im so glad I purchased this.
Another VS clone but your in space. In terms of difficulty, id say its in the middle out of the vs clones out their, so harder then VS but not as hard as others such as bounty of one. Generic permanent progression, difficulty increases (you unlock astrology signs and you "equip" them, more you equip, the harder it becomes, but you do get a slight buff to compensate). Game has special challenge mode's you can do that disable the permanent upgrades. Everything is automatic. However it seems the fps is capped at 60 even if you increase the max frame rate via nvidia control panel. Multiple different ships to choose from, but it seems the default ship is the best/most balanced one (at least in my opinion). Game sadly hasint sold enough copies though to be able to put steam achiev's in showcase. Run's are done in 20 mins per it seems with a boss every couple of mins. Also has random events that can spawn during game play, complete them to get extra stuff to help you during your run, like he...
This game is simple but enjoyable, and the weapons are varied enough to make for a lot of interesting ship build options. The maps are pretty same-y and there's not much variation and no real obstacles or environmental things to worry about avoiding or using against the enemies, and the enemies aren't varied, so this can be considered a "just barely positive" review. With more map variations and different sets of enemies on each map, this would be a "very positive" review.
Lovely game!!!
A cute and humble little Vampire-Survivors-like game. Pretty enough, solid gameplay, lots of weapon and ship variety and such to discovery, interesting upgrades to earn, music is largely unobjectionable. A particularly interesting upgrade tech tree - imagine 12 branches but you can only activate 6 at a time, gives it more strategic depth than you might expect from a game like this compared to lazier clones. I'd easily put Space Mercenary Defense Force in the top 3'rd of its breed, if it WORKED properly. The game is good but in a mere 2 hours of play it has crashed on me twice, one of which froze up the pc entirely. My gaming rig might be 5 years old but it can play most demanding modern games just fine, this is absurd. It is a tragedy really, there is genuine good game design here but there is something functionally wrong under the hood. I wish it weren't so. Gonna find out if Steam will refund me on this one at 2.6 hours playtime.
The game is well polished, have alot of content, dozens of weapons all with their deep upgrades, unlockable ships and meta progress. The Dev also Update the game very often. Recommended game.
