Over the past six months since I purchased TMH, I have tried giving it multiple chances, but each time I found it dull and bland, even though I haven't gotten past the spider monster. It may be due to my rusty skills, but if I truly wanted to, I would have done so by now (obsessing over killing it). Therefore, I have decided to add it to my dropped games list. However, this doesn’t mean that I will never return to it. P.S. I will update this review if I decide to replay it.

As a long time survival horror fan, I was seriously disappointed with this title. While I did play through to the end, it was an insufferable experience honestly. While the atmosphere and visuals are good and the basic game play loop is present, for me this game missed the mark for the genre in so many ways and I cannot in good faith recommend this game for the following reasons: 1. Combat Difficulty: While survival horror games are known to be quite difficult, this game is NEEDLESSLY HARD and extremely unforgiving to a point where it felt like a trial and error simulator, with bosses being either bullet sponges or 1-hit kills with no in-between. You are not rewarded for proper planning and item management as numerous encounters in this game will kill you regardless of how well you prepare the first time you come upon them, so you are back to the save room immediately and know what to do to efficiently get past the obstacle. 2: Puzzle Difficulty: The puzzles in this game are ju...

This game is a love letter to old school survival horror games - most notable Resident Evil. This game features some excellent use of the fixed camera angles to create tension or give interesting perspectives of the scene. It even modernises in parts by having a camera pan or zoom rather than a hard cut. This of course comes with its own drawbacks which I understand a lot of modern audience does not enjoy, but if you are interested in the old style survival horror games then you can't go too wrong here. The game certainly is flawed in many ways. I think at times it could do a better job at directing the player. I found myself frustrated early on with a number of puzzles that are available but it wasn't clear to me which ones were doable with perseverance vs which ones I am missing a key item to progress. Generally the puzzles were good though and I felt like the solutions were satisfying. Another issue is inventory management - I had a number of occasions where my inventory was full b...

Was game fun? Sorta Honestly just bad camera angels and bad puzzles. Like to vomit during a boss fight because panels keep on changing and couldn't figure out where I was. Was looking for a way go through the spider webs. Took like a hour to find the damn lighter just because camera never angled to a specific door you can't see unless your almost hugging it. You're suppose to know about the door because your ran through it early in the game but if you are like me and take a break after first save you're not going remember that door was there. Any puzzle that makes you figure out what a tarot card is just bad. I shouldn't have to go on google to solve a puzzle. The last floor puzzle I didn't even attempt to solve it without a guide. I guess that one is possible to do with plaques try didn't want to set there trying dying over and over again. Also there not a save in the next area so having to back track to save a little annoying. Inventory management was fine. You only really need ...

Um... dyslexics who have trouble with spatial and visual awareness BEWARE? Sad because the game is the kind I like, but I had to give up quite early, I have never had such a frustrating time trying to control a character's direction while the camera angles were changing in each screen. I've played games with controllers before and got used to it after a bit, but the mechanics in this game are nonsensical to me. So... it's not just me. Each time the camera angle changed, I would find myself having a lot of difficulty with changing how the character moves. I got tired of running in circles and going in the wrong direction.

This horror game sadly isn't very good. The character animations are stiff and robotic. I could forgive it if it weren't for a poorly designed inventory system. Its like the whole thing is meant to be annoying. Individual magazines take up separate inventory slots. Even when a magazine is loaded into the gun, its still consumes an extra slot. There save boxes, but they're not interconnected. So if you leave any precious supplies in a box, they will be inaccessible at a later box. This coupled with a dreadfully small inventory space as well as the aforementioned magazine issue makes for a lot of needless backtracking. Then theres the issue of the scarcity of ammo. I know there this misconception that classic horror games had a small amount of ammo and health items. In truth, there was an abundance of ammo if you knew where to look. These games are shooters after all. Combat is and should be a major focus. Of course it doesn't matter, as even if there were sufficient ammo in the game, ...

This is more than a RE clone, it has its own story line. The Mansion is carefully crafted with each room being Unique with interesting clutter and decor, the layout is so well designed you will remember where you are a skill that is lost in modern games. There are more puzzles and puzzle items than combat and they are enough to require thinking but not too cryptic, the Mansion itself is actually an intricate puzzle box that you slowly unlock. You may discover something that you can't actually solve until much later or an Item that you can't use yet. The graphics and atmosphere are surprisingly good, it has dynamic reflections they look like ray tracing but not sure, you can see full reflections on shiny floor tiles and mirrors, it stands up against the best looking games of this type imho, despite the dynamic lighting, performance is very good. I do hope new players will get used to this ps1 era control style, it is Ideal for a game with cameras that switch angles to give the game it ...

Loved it. REmake is one of my favorite games and this game pays it a great tribute while still being original. For example reloading a handgun makes you discard your current clip, which can still be picked up, but it adds an interesting angle to inventory management; and low-level healing prevents running, adding some tension in whether you actually want to save it or make sure you are fully healed, while gauging the risk. Atmosphere and graphics are great and immersive. Story was nice and kept me compelled enough. Great use of fixed camera angles for both immersion and gameplay. Most importantly, I felt there was a great balance of "being in control but barely" which is IMO the core of Resident Evil gameplay. The difficulty, the paths you have to pick and enemy placements, the resources management, and interesting puzzles keep you on edge while not entering annoying territory for the most part. There are some flaws like some bosses not giving enough room and therefore feeling more...
