About the Game

Sisypush is a 1-bit puzzle game inspired by Sokoban games. Push rocks and other objects to clear the path to the final goal in each level!

Play as Sisyphus from Ancient Greek mythology, who got punished to push a rock for eternity in the underworld after having cheated Death twice. While this game does not go on for eternity, you can play over 70 different levels with varying difficulties, each level having the goal of pushing the white rock into the goal tile.

Contrary to many other Sokoban games, the objective in every Sisypush level is to bring just one special rock to the target tile. Additional mechanics such as larger rocks, rivers, or ice will present a challenge in many levels.

Features

  • Over 70 levels, split up into 5 worlds
  • A new game mechanic is introduced in each world
  • A map-like level selection with branching paths
  • Complete enough levels to unlock the gate to the next world
  • Unlimited Undos
  • Easy to learn
  • Full controller support
  • Minimalistic 1-bit art style
  • 20 achievements.
  • Optionally, you can try to optimize your route in each level and try to achieve the best rating.

Accessibility

  • Remappable Controls
    • Bind any and as many keys or controller buttons to the in-game controls
  • TTS (Text-to-Speech) support (blind accessible):
    • Notice: Requires usable voices installed on your system (SAPI voices). Unfortunately the game cannot communicate with screen readers.
    • Players who are vision impaired can activate TTS by pressing F1 at the start of the game (or 'Select' on a gamepad).
    • UI elements (including the level selection) are narrated and can be navigated using keys or a controller.
    • In a level, the TTS Object Narrator acts as a seperate "camera" that can move independently of the player and can describe all tiles. It narrates the tile's coordinates and what is on the tile.
    • The levels do not have any time limit. So you can explore each level at your own pace. It might still be beneficial if you have decent spatial imagination.
    • A help section accessible from the main menu explains all controls and in-game mechanics.
    • Settings to change voice, speed, pitch, and volume of the text-to-speech functionality.
  • Audio volume controls (change the volumes of music, sound effects, and ambience sounds independently)
  • Turn off screen shake (level transitions will still be enabled though)
  • Turn off vibration (for gamepads)

This game is for you if:

  • You like puzzle games.
  • You don't mind short games.
    • If you don't have much Sokoban experience, I estimate it will take 4-5 hours to complete every level.
    • Experienced players will probably be able to complete the game in 2-3 hours.
  • You like minimalist art.
  • If you enjoy accessibility features such as text-to-speech support.

Please consider wishlisting and following the game! :)

Cute little sokoban game. Most puzzles aren't too difficult to find a solution to, but finding an optimal solution is a nice optional challenge. However there are also some tough puzzles in there.

Not a bad game, but there are many better sokoban / block pushing games. I played through to the end (did not try to optimize number of moves) and there were very few of the ~70 puzzles that I found interesting or particularly well designed. For similar games with more thoughtful puzzles, check out Sokoban Bunny Tales or No Anglerfish.

Another great version of sokoban-like game. Most of the levels are easy, but there are some exceptions (especially at higher levels). But that doesn't mean that the game is not a challenge for experienced players - there is still a possibility to play all levels in a minimum number of steps, which is not so easy.

A simple and casual Sokoban. Great variety of puzzles for its price.

Neat puzzle game! Simple graphics, but an all around solid package and well executed. Difficulty curve begins nice and easy and gets quite challenging further in, but not too hard. Optional level completion challenge included for those who want to optimise.

Very nice, minimalist Sokoban inspired game. Really liking the undo system which makes takes you back to the last push you performed, rather than every single move you made. This means instead of pressing undo 20 times to get to the last stone you pushed, you just press it once. The audio is nice too, the music approriate for theme but doesn't take you out of the puzzle mindset, the stone push sounds are very cathartic too, can recommend, especially for the low asking price!

Solid game for the price. Puzzles could be improved and some QoL would make it much better to play.

Excellent puzzle game. Has a nice "last push" undo feature. Each level is graded on 0-3 stars for push count and 0-3 stars for step count. There is a hidden "mark of approval" (see statistics page) for getting a perfect push and step count, which are sometimes much harder than the 3 star solutions. This adds a lot of replay-ability when one tries to find the perfect solution. Sometimes you can even beat the "mark of approval" though :) It would be nice if there was a quick level select screen that displays just level number, name, step count, push count, step count target, push count target, mark of approval (yes/no). Navigating the map is a bit tedious without this when one goes back to try to get marks of approval.
