Out of the hundreds of games that I have played & enjoyed over the years, Ghosts of Tsushima is hands down one of my favourite games & easily makes it into my Top 5. It is incredibly beautiful in more ways than one & I'm very surprised it didn't win the 2020 GOTY Award. I will break down everything in a Pro's vs Con's list.
Pro's
+ Story. If you ever wanted a masterclass in storytelling, Ghosts of Tsushima has one of the best story's I've ever had the privilege of playing. From the main story, the DLC's & every little side quest, everything in this game is executed to perfection. Don't be surprised if you get attached to several characters. + World. Has a wide variety of beautiful landscapes to enjoy & get lost in. Honestly, sometimes I forgot I had a war to fight. Yes, there's a Photo Mode if you're interested in that. + Combat. Once you've progressed a little with the story, gotten used to how the combat system works & learned some additional stances, the combat can...

Absolute worth every minute! This game has everything. Deep Story, Addictive Combat System, Engaging Dialogue. True Masterpiece Asw!!
A Working Ubisoft Formula with Beautiful Art Direction
This review is pretty subjective, please read and/or watch other reviews before buying Conclusion at the bottom, please read the full review first I bought this game cause people on the internet keep telling me how this game is a better Assassin’s Creed. I was expecting an amazing stealth system with great samurai combat. The latter was pretty accurate, can’t say the same with the stealth For context I’ve played most main AC titles except AC 3, Chronicles, Odyssey, and Shadows. So I’m used to fast stealth type of gameplay like AC Unity, even in the RPG era games, you can still be fast paced minus the tools.
A samurai fantasy game that has stealth, NOT a stealth game
Transversal is fucking slow in this game. Considering this game is about how cinematic combat is, it sacrifices movement. Rock climbing is slow, climbing rooftops is worse, you better unlock the grappling hooks fast cau...

Ghost of Tsushima is a breathtaking masterpiece that blends cinematic storytelling with fluid, satisfying combat. Set against the stunning backdrop of feudal Japan, the game delivers a deeply emotional journey of honor, sacrifice, and identity. The open world is rich with detail, from golden forests to misty mountain shrines, inviting exploration at every turn. The combat is sharp and strategic, and the stealth mechanics are smooth and immersive. With its beautiful visuals, haunting soundtrack, and heartfelt narrative, Ghost of Tsushima stands as one of the finest open-world games of its generation. A 10/10 game🗿🗿
The first time I played Ghost of Tsushima, it was on someone else’s account—and I knew right away this game was special. From the moment I started exploring Tsushima, I was completely pulled in. Everything about it felt right. I enjoyed it so much, I went and bought it myself and ended up finishing the game twice—once on a shared account, and once on my own. I don’t usually replay games, but this one? It was 100% worth it. PROS – All the things I loved: 1] The World & Visuals: This game is beautiful. Like, really beautiful. The world feels alive with all the colors, changing weather, and small details everywhere. The wind guiding you instead of a marker is genius and makes it feel way more natural. Just riding your horse through the island feels relaxing and peaceful. 2] Combat: The combat is amazing. It’s smooth, clean, and every fight feels satisfying. Whether you're going head-to-head in a standoff or sneaking around as the Ghost, it never gets boring. Switching stance...
This game made me want to meditate, write a haiku, eat more rice and raw fish...then decapitate someone. くそっ、これは最高だった!
Let’s clear the air first: Ghost of Tsushima has the most misleading title since Final Fantasy (20+ bloody games later...still not final!). No ghosts, no ghouls, not even a haunted bloody rice bowl....but I love it because I prefer realistic games without monsters, ghosts, or that sort of nonsense. The moment I stepped onto the windswept shores of Tsushima, I swear I could feel my Japanese ancestors whispering, "You better not dishonour the family name." And when I used a healing item mid-fight instead of dying & doing seppuku like a proper samurai? I felt them sigh. Audibly. One ancestor probably rage-quit my bloodline. However about gameplay: ✔️ Combat? Razor sharp. ✔️ Visuals? Straight-up art. ✔️ Vibes? Full ancestral pressure. Plus, you can play with Japanese audio and English subtitles....perfect for ...
Ghost of Tsushima is pretty overrated, honestly I put high expectation on this game because of how everyone keep talking about how good it is, but the base game story is mid at best. The side quests and collectibles are kinda boring imo, lots of unnecessary padding, combat got nothing special except the having to change the stances in mid combat (the dlc enemies are pretty fun since they constantly changing weapons which make the game slightly more challenging compare to base game). on the positive side, the world building is beautiful, and the legend story is fun, the way they reveal the legends through japanese traditional drawing style is cool, and honestly, the dlc is way much more better than the base game, deeper lore and better story telling, the side quests are also enjoyable, I haven't try the online mode yet, but by far, i'll give this game an 8/10 (the dlc really carried this game so hard)
Man I am really enjoying this game. The graphics and environment is breathtaking. I really like the combat system. Can't wait to fully complete this game.
70 hours into my first play through and I both love this game but am also ready for it to end. Its visually beautiful and I do love the combat system however it becomes very tedious after a while similar to how the newer Assassins Creeds become tedious as you try and explore everything. Running into groups of mongols everywhere the standoffs become more of a chore and you just ride past. The repetition of points of interests also wanes thin at this playtime. Would recommend not exploring everything, at 40-50 hours this game is amazing. At 60-70 I think it becomes a bit tedious. Lethal is challenging but it does become a "can you parry" game which does lean towards certain builds. Will definitely do a Lethal NG+ playthrough after a bit of a break. 100% recommend maybe just dont try and do absolutely everything.
