About This Game

Factory Town Idle is a unique town builder where you manage an entire economy from a simple but powerful set of menus. At the start, simple clicks will harvest resources, create housing & production buildings, and assign workers to craft items. You'll choose which items to sell at the markets, and which to refine into better items. As you gain experience, you'll acquire tools that help automatically manage your growing town - which you will need in order to manage its increasing demands.

Eventually you will gain the ability to expand into exotic biomes, unlocking valuable resources & recipes exclusive to those regions. All along, you'll need to invest your earnings back into research and upgrades so that your town can earn you increasingly large piles of coins.

  • Make gourmet food, machinery, fine clothing, books of knowledge, potions, enchanted jewelry, and many other types of items
  • Discover new recipes as your production skills increase
  • Cultivate crops and prospect for ores to boost natural resources
  • Huge list of quests which unlock powerful perks when completed
  • Use aqueducts, water wheels, steam power, electricity, farm equipment, trains and research labs to give your production a boost
  • Several different Biomes with unique resources, as well as advantages & weaknesses to work around
  • Exchange goods between multiple towns to maximize the benefit of local specialties
  • Detailed production stats let you know where your bottlenecks are so you can keep your supply chain flowing
  • Set production limits and priorities to precisely allocate your resources
  • While away from the game, you earn Time Tokens you can use to fast-forward the simulation when you're ready to play again

early game was fun but the late game is a slog and i hurt my hand with all the clicking i have to do to build all of the buildings. the bottlenecks are constant and progression grinds to a halt even when towns are optimized. if i made a review a day or two ago it would have been positive due to progress being at a decent pace. now it is just something to uninstall and forget about.

Tried to find something fun in the game, but in vain.

Picked the game up on sale. It's decent enough to fill some time at the start where clicking helps speed things along. Wouldn't recommend buying outside of a sale Mostly everything is automated, takes a little while to unlock auto research. Would be nice if there was auto buy/claim upgrades, a tad bit annoying having a green arrow light up to notify you something is ready to upgrade, click buy and the arrow lights back up again, click buy and it lights up again. There's a lot of information to display, for me it feels a bit messy and not easy to keep track of multiple in need resources. About 30ish hours (I think I forgot to close the game a couple of times) to get most of the achievements, the last few are just waiting for all your towns to hit 50, and the last one is waiting for your town to be 30 irl days old. After your towns have hit level 50 there isn't really anything else to do, you can go Endless, but there's no reason to do so. There's a daily coin collect, which makes it f...

Better than Melvor Idle and Runescape combined. Obviously, an overblown statement on my part, but Factory Town Idle is very good and very underrated.

Factory Town Idle is a strategic, resource-management game that blends classic incremental mechanics with the complexities of logistics and production-chain optimization. Developed by Erik Asmussen, known for the original Factory Town, this idle-centric spin-off streamlines the intricate mechanics of its predecessor into a minimalist but deeply satisfying progression system. Though the game strips away the 3D town-building and visual polish of the original, it retains the intellectual core—building an efficient, self-sustaining economy—and packages it into an experience that’s perfect for players who enjoy watching numbers grow and systems evolve. At first glance, Factory Town Idle may seem barebones, with its text-heavy interface and simple node-based menus. However, beneath this modest presentation lies an impressively deep engine of interconnected systems. You begin with a few basic buildings—farms, lumber mills, and houses—and must use these to generate foundational reso...
