So... I'm not usually someone to go for this type of game. I'm aroace, I don't really get crushes, and therefore never thought that a dating sim would at all interest me. However, after enough youtube lets plays had popped up on my feed, it convinced me to at least give it a try for, if nothing else, the character designs (they are incredible after all, hats off to the designers for that!) The fact that the game outright says that romancing is not necessary either - that you can just as well befriend everyone (or even make enemies), well, it really intrigued me. And, safe to say... I'm kind of obsessed? I mean, I knew the character designs were going to blow me away, like I said they're all so incredible and inspired. Using bubbles in place of fur to line a bathrobe for the bath character? Using a plastic loofah as a boutonnière for the shower? The wooden slats of a bed frame as a corset for the bed? I love it! However, what has kept me returning to the game time and tim...

It's...fine. I forgot how much I dislike games that are more like reading a story, I'd read a choose-you-own-adventure book over paying for a game that's probably more expensive. Some characters I ended up liking a lot--like Jacques, Kristof, Chance, and Dorian--but I didn't have a connection to any of them that went deeper than surface level. I got the game on pre-order, thinking that I would love it since my friend and I talked about it, but I quickly realized that it's time consuming for time's sake. It's easily soft-locked, I have to admit that too. It's a good game in theory, I like the thought and detailing put into it, but it's just not all there. The endings are disappointing to say the least, especially realizing them. I just wish I realized earlier that it's simply a visual novel with barely any changes to an ending depending on the choices. The characters fall a little short, especially after getting an ending with them: hate, love, or friends. I found it hard to want to k...
Thanks to this game, I spend an ungodly amount of my time thinking about doors in a very unhealthy way. 11/10
This game isn’t really a dating sim (or at least not an usual one) Personally, I loved the game and I can clearly see how much effort the team put into it. The artwork is beautiful, the character designs are fantastic, the voice acting is on point and I was entertained for hours. However, if you’re used to games where you spend lots of time with your favorite character, fall in love with them, and feel deeply hurt when the story ends, Date Everything might not be what you’re looking for. Here, we have many characters, limited screen time for each and endings that aren’t as romantic as we’d probably like (guys i swear some endings are just WTF JUST HAPPENED LOL) I do recommend it, but more as a “help other people solve their problems” simulator than a dating sim.
How did I even find myself here..? I really dislike dating sims, unless I know I'm getting myself into something ''weird'', like I did with Doki-Doki Literature club. I bought this game for shits and giggles, and now I am actually thoroughly invested. Such a fun concept, every single character design is great - you can look at any character and guess what they are supposed to represent. This game is, somehow, such a pure comedy gold, with occasional moments that might make you feel sad for the objects in the game. I'm sorry, a Dominatrix Safe because ''Safe Word''? An air fryer that thinks of himself higher than others because he doesn't need the ''nasty'' oil? The person representing the mirror is called Amir, because, get it, A MIRror? A shower that wants to be a singer, but absolutely sucks at singing? There are so many clever, funny and creative ideas in the designs of the characters, I can just go on. You can tell how much love was put into this game. I do absolutely love the id...
The fact that this game has overwhelmingly positive reviews shocked me a little, overall the experience was more subpar than anything, and left me feeling underwhelmed and dissapointed for the high price tag. Overall, date everything has some very high highs and very low lows. To start off with the positives, the voice acting is top notch and the way the actors do their job is genuinely the best i've seen from the genre. Every character is voiced in a unique and memorable way which definitely leaves an impactful and positive experience, made even more impressive by the fact that there's over 100 characters in the game. Furthermore, the artstyle and design of each of the characters are very creative and pleasing to look at and it is genuinely a joy to see how each objects core function is integrated into their overall appearance. However, the most forgettable thing about the game was the narrator. The dialogue, delivery and general purpose of the character was a complete miss a...
Not a real dating sim, not even a good dating sim parody. It took me literally 60 hours to finish and I was getting sick of the grind at 10 hours. At some point, every bad joke, every character route that just ends abruptly because who the hell knows what I did wrong in what wrong order, every time a character hates you for trying to be nice to them, meaning you can never finish their route, it just feels like another needle being pushed into your skin. And they want me to play New Game+ for all the achievements? Nah man. Forget that.
So I am on the fence on whether or not to recommend it. I just finished the game at 62 hours and there are a lot of positives, and a few large negatives for me. The positives are the same as everyone says. The art is GREAT. In a world where AI is being pushed, I LOVE how much focus was put into real art with real artists. Also, the voice acting... clearly that's the main focus of the game. The creators are well known folks in the VA industry and were able to hire their friends who are just the best VAs in the industry. Honestly, these two factors, and knowing that this is their freshman game are the reason for giving the recommend. Very ethically made game by hiring 120+ artist between visual and voice and I'm always down to support that. The negative: (BEWARE: HERE THERE BE SPOILERS) That being said, I like to 100% games. You cannot do that if you have even a single hate ending. There are a few ways to correct a few of the hate endings, but if you have more than 5 hates, you...
I got this as a joke, my bud said "Make it official with the fridge fatass" but the music got me mate.
