About This Game

Enter an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned. This ARPG features complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting and quests with choice & consequence.

Key Features

 • Dual Class - Combine any of six distinct classes with over 25 skills and modifiers per class. Base classes include Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist and Shaman.
 • Hundreds of Item Skills - Augment your class build with a diverse array of over 250 unique skills granted by items and equipment add-ons.
 • Collect hundreds of Items - Common, magical, rare, epic and legendary classes of loot. Plus over 20,000 possible magical affix combinations and over 200 rare affixes.
 • Quests with Choice and Consequence - You will face tough decisions that leave significant impacts upon the world. Strangers on the road, desperate families and even entire villages may live or perish based on your actions. Currently over 35 quests with 75+ lore notes to be collected.
 • Friendly and Enemy Factions - Earn favor with human factions to unlock additional quest lines, vendor discounts and special faction-based items and augments. Some neutral factions can be turned into allies but aiding one will make the enemy of another. Hostile factions will remember your deeds and deepen their hatred of you, sending out large packs and elite heroes to hunt you down.
 • Devotion, an additional layer of skill customization allows you to acquire bonuses and powerful secondary effects for your class skills. These are unlocked from a giant constellation map with points acquired by finding and restoring destroyed or corrupted shrines hidden throughout the world.
 • Rebuild the World - Help human enclaves survive and flourish by securing vital necessities, rebuilding structures and rescuing survivors who can then lend their services to your cause.
 • 4 Person Multiplayer - Connect with Friends or make new allies in glorious multiplayer. Multiplayer encounters will put your teamwork to the ultimate challenge.
 • Fast-paced Visceral Combat - Enemy blood spatters, ragdoll physics and satisfying enemy death effects. Smash in doors and fight house to house, leaving a path of demolished furniture in your wake.
 • Rotatable Camera - If you choose to survey the full beauty of the world and always fight from the most optimal angle. Levels are still designed so that players are not forced to rotate the camera; it is purely optional.
 • Secrets and Perils Abound - 200+ Enemy heroes and bosses, hand-configured with their own unique arrays of deadly skills. 20+ secret areas hidden behind crumbling walls, hidden gaps and mysterious locked doors. Explode obstacles or repair structures to open new paths.
 • Rogue-Like Dungeons - Descend into special locked challenge dungeons that require a rare crafted key, where enemy levels increase as you progress and player teleport is disabled. There is no way out except to complete the dungeon or die trying.
 • Dynamic Weather - The world is brought to life with region-specific climates and a variety of weather effects. A sunny day can cloud over with mild rain showers that builds into a booming thunderstorm. Variable wind gusts blow grass and affect objects like windmills.
 • Recipe Based Crafting - Collect over 250 crafting recipes that allow you to combine salvaged components into unique crafted items and then, later, use those basic crafted items with higher-tiered recipes to complete items of amazing power.
 • Reclaim Skill Points - The ability to pay to reclaim points alleviates the fear and frustration of having to make early, uninformed skill choices that could permanently gimp a character.
Grim Dawn is...one of the most epic fantasy games to every exist!
Words will never do it justice as the world setting, the skills, the class combos, each thing has their own world fully developed to explore. I'll try to sum them up a bit!

Classes can mix between themselves there a 9 classes but they can be combined for a total of 45 classes.
Ever wanted to be mage assassin? you can! Ever wanted to be a dual-welding pistol user while using different kind of bullets? (ice, chaos, fire...) you CAN!
The lore and the dialogue is incredibly deep, and the deepest I have seen so far for a game of this kind.
Game is still getting updates to this day!
New DLC INCOMING!
If you are looking for a game to blast with friend this is it!!
Now you want a game to spend 4000 hours on? THIS IS ALSO IT
Game supports very different player styles, casual gamers will beat it once and be done, and hardcore gaymers (me) will make the jump to higher difficultie...

If you like singleplayer Diablo 2 this is your game. Really fun and the graphics have held up well. There's plenty of side quests and extra content to keep you occupied. - inventory size increases after story milestones - devotion tree has plenty of upgrades to complement your build - respec skills and devotion points basically for free - faction system that makes enemies harder over time and unlocks gear from merchants - rare recipe drops and a smith to craft special gear and components -- sort of like the gambling mechanic in D2 - the enemies do not hold back. if you play hardcore veteran you WILL die your first few runs - dual class system gives you tons of flexibility. you want to play a melee mage that uses a 2 handed axe? go for it I have some minor critiques about lack of visibility into damage types (no combat log) and some enemies that seem to deal tons of damage out of nowhere. But you quickly learn about them, especially if you play hardcore. Advice for hardcore players: ...

Scratches that Titan Quest itch, while also not being mid game like Diablo 3 and 4 is. Amazing game where you can spend hundreds of hours trying out different builds

Over 5,000 hours later I figured it might be time for a review. It's hard to pick even a place to start on this game, because it is just such a shining example of not only its genre, but video games in general. Sure the graphics are a tad dated at this stage (though still appealing and fitting for a game of its time), and its certainly very much geared towards a non-PVP experience, but neither of those things are what this game is about. This is a game of possibilities, a game where if you can dream up a fantasy character you can almost always make it a reality. Yes, I will admit when it comes to customization of the player themselves it is a bit blunt (ie male/female - the end), but the extremely wide array of items and styles almost ensures that you will only be seeing what they are wearing anyway. But the real diversity of this game goes well beyond itemization, as you can also choose up to two distinct classes (one at the beginning, one at lvl 10) for a unique combination of s...

IMO one of the best ARPGs out there. Very similar to classics like Diablo II and Titan Quest. Gameplay loop is fun, there is plenty of loot, and enemy variety is rich. The story is also pretty decent. If you dislike Path of Exile's crazy skill tree and all the meta nonsense with every update, get yourself Grim Dawn.

Absolutely love every section of this game. It feels like the older ARPGs, and that's extremely welcomed now.

I'm not much of an ARPG fan, and while I enjoyed beating the game on hardcore/veteran I'm not going to re-play or grind side quests. But from the looks of it this game has hundreds upon hundreds of hours of content for the fans of the genre.

I know I'm in the minority and most people enjoy this game (and chances are you will too), but for me this is probably one of the most boring and bland ARPGs of all times (and I've been playing them since D1). Give it a try, if you enjoy it, good for you. If you don't enjoy it after an hour, return it, because it won't get any better.

The Reign of Terror mod is the reason I bought this and it continues to be one of the greatest odes to Diablo to ever exist. So much fun to dual class Diablo characters, or even mix Diablo with GD. You get to play all of D2 and also D1 in the mod, plus extra stuff.

I don't think I'd have sunk 460+ hours into this game, if I didn't enjoy it. I think they went overboard with all the different damage types, but it's still just a fantastic gaming experience.
