I've been following this game for a while and playing all the play tests. I wish I could recommend this game as a spiritual successor to Blockland, and it is in almost every way, except one. The website show that visual scripting is going to be implemented, but after talking in the discord it turns out it was scrapped in favor of logic gates. This was my number 1 most wanted feature in the game, a successor to Blockland's events system. Apparently the dev team thinks logic gates are "good enough" to replace this system. Logic gates currently have no tutorial in-game, which is fine because early-access, whatever. The in-game explanations for them use language that only a programmer would understand. Moreover, the gates themselves are poorly sorted in the catalog in a long list that makes it hard to quickly put things together, My biggest problem with them, however, is that instead of just assigning "if -> then" properties onto a block, you have to place a bunch of logic gates all...

I can be a LEGO furry and build Hot Wheels cars and play around with carefully animated guns for hours at a time to forget how dog ass my life is. Truly the official autism video game
A potentially great sandbox game, ruined by a terrible community overseen by diva moderators and their cliques. One Brickadia player (L) was stalking another (B) found that they had reposted something on Bluesky from a problematic person, and reported it to the head mods. Within a day, person B and their girlfriend were permanently banned from Brickadia. Do not spend $30 on this game. You and your friends can be permanently banned because someone has decided they don't like you, stalked your Internet presence, and discovered that you interacted with *once.* And if you bring this up in the official Discord group? The mods will wipe all discussion, and shut down all criticism. EDIT: I've since been informed that the bans were reversed, and that the game's actual developer are reviewing their moderation policies to ensure that this does not happen again. However, I can't recommend Brickadia without a heavy disclaimer until I see that the community moderation has improved. This game is ...
If you so much as look at any content that the moderators disagree with, completely outside the game, on an unrelated social media website, you will get permabanned from ever playing the game again, with no chance of appeal. Oh but if you actually suffer active harassment inside the game, nothing will be done about it. Vibes-based moderation.
The game isn't worth the price. I spent over two hours coming to the horrifying conclusion that I didn't like the systems in place for building, and I just wasted 40 dollars. I didn't like how it was mandatory to write code just to make a simple door. The places that I found already built by players didn't even use functioning doors, they just had you passing through them like a ghost, smart... wish I did that, instead I had to go and do things the 'right way'. Building in this game is an actual pain in the ass. It functions. You can do it. But if you expect--for example--a smaller brick to attach to a larger brick, you're dead fucking wrong dumbass, OF COURSE IT FALLS TO THE FLOOR AND DETATCHES WHEN YOU UNANCHOR IT!! What moron expects two blocks of different sizes to fit together, oh oh and don't forget, you can't resize shit to your specifications. You have to get a separate small version of that brick type, get out your microscope, zoom in and fiddle around with it until you...
blockland player since 06, and RTB. i played every mod, the tf2, the runescape one, etc etc. This is a great EA for a blockland successor, not only did they retain the same artstyle and charm, they built on it, made it more visually pleasing, and made it much more customizable. the building is also leagues ahead, though i do wish they kept the "events" system along with the new logic gates, which are a mind F on their own. Animation quality on all the weapons in the game are also great, with really good sound and punch. But so far this is a building game, so if you love legos, but want to get crazy with them, get this game. since i am a hardcore blockland fan, the price did not deter me, however, this game would go NUTS on a 50-60% sale, im sure of it. 10/10, again, as a blockland diehard this is as good as it gets.
When i first followed development for this game i was amused of how much you could do in this game, and i cannot deny it, this is probably one of the best lego - sandbox games out there, but nevertheless it lacks plenty of stuff as it is now. I acknowledge the game is still on early access, but i gotta say it hurts ribs to spend that much money on this. What i mean is the game feels kinda bland, i might not be the person to please the most, but it feels like it misses a lot of core mechanics. -A way of saving builds/prefabs without having to assemble the hole thing first (eg, manually placing doors/wheels on hinges) -You have to manually select the whole model x y z wich ends up with pieces often being left out -You HAVE to select with the wand what to make object physics -Terrain builder/tools -Object destruction is null -A lack of constant playerbase As far as i know there is stuff that will be added along the full release but in a gameplay perspective is a no for me, id ...
Consider making the game cheaper for an actual community.
pros: drip good graphics good physics cons: DEAD NO DESTRUCTION DEAD not much to do no updates id wait a while till ye get it
cannot recommend until a mirror mode in some sort has been added, or atleast a flip option on rotating blocks so you can copy one half of something and flip it.
