About This Game

THE OLD WEST, 1864. In order to save their family, the McCall brothers will kill anyone who stands between them and the legendary Gold of Juarez. But when the allure of money and women tests their bond, will the blood they share prove to be thicker than water?

  • Become a Gunslinger — Harness an array of weapons, from various revolvers to heavy-caliber cannons and machine guns. Every accurate shot increases your concentration, which allows you to unleash deadly shooting modes when outnumbered — and even deadlier ones when the brothers work together.

  • Brothers in Arms — Choose to embody Ray or Thomas, each with a distinctive gameplay style (close- or long-range), specific abilities (lasso, dynamite, etc.) and arsenal of deadly weapons (dual guns, long-range carbine, etc.). Take advantage of their strengths and you just might survive some of the fiercest fights imaginable.

  • Immersive Western Experience — Explore vast natural landscapes of the untamed mythical Old West on foot, horseback, in wagons and canoes. Visit iconic settings full of outlaws. The McCall brothers face a renegade Apache chief, a greedy Mexican bandit, a vindictive colonel — and those are just a few of the underhanded villains standing in the brothers’ way.

Please note that as of August 2016, the online features for this game are no longer supported. The Multiplayer mode / Co-op mode will no longer be accessible.

[H3]A game from 2009 that is still interesting.

It's not without flaws, but it's a remarkable step up from the predecessor. The story may be a bit shallow, yet its intensity kept me hooked, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tale of brothers painted in guns and blood.

I just finished this surprisingly fun game. It is a story driven Western shooter though it is so much more, a pure joy to play. The controls are weak for a PC game this was my only real complaint. The FOV could have been better, no adjustments or FOV mods. The story, music, voice acting are top shelf I wasn't expecting much, what a surprise. I wouldn't even post this thread but I found the whole game to be something special. If your looking for a fun short romp this one fills that bill in spades. Not for the kiddies the language can be a little harsh at times. Overlook the shortcomings and you could have great fun. Im still grinning and in awe at the production value, what a great game. Just thought I would share my experience with this fun game if anyone is interested.

Rating – 9/10 An absolute classic. I played it as a kid and loved every second of this outstanding cowboy experience. The vibe, the story, and the gameplay are still on point even in 2025. It’s one of the very few full-blown Wild West entries out there, and if you’ve got that RDR itch, CoJ is an absolute must-play. The only downside is that on hardcore difficulty, a few rare sequences feel a bit unfair and random. Other than that, it’s an amazing entry in an amazing series.

It's definitely not good by any meaning of the word. The gameplay is very subpar, even for its time. There are outright broken segments like the standoffs. In todays standarts, it doesn't offer anything good. Story is horrible. I don't think you can write a worse one even if you tried. It has some continuity errors with the first game. But even without the first game story is almost unbearable. I would write everything wrong about it but I don't want to write 10 page-review for this story. Only give it a shot if you absolutely loved Ray in the first game, tbh I still wouldn't recommend it.

Hasn't aged well. The game play is very boring. You walk down linear pathways which were probably cinematic back in 2009 and clearly trying to copy what Call of Duty was doing at the time. You blast enemies and move on, rinse and repeat. The shaky cam is the worst part. To make you feel like stuff is happening, the camera constantly shakes from shooting, explosions etc, making it hard to see what's happening a lot of the time.

I've played this so many times in multiple platforms. It's the best western game after RDR. It's funny, cliche but fulfilling story, great ending. The gameplay is fun, maybe outdated a bit, but always fun. Cowboys and indians galore, you fight everybody. Two characters with similar gameplay but distinct specialties. You'll be guns blazing with any of them!
