Pocket Planet is a short puzzle game with some nice music and simple visuals. If you just want to have fun, find the mobile version. Its free, unlike this. In this game you need to fill in a small map with tiles, to meet certain objectives. Finishing a quest or meeting another requirement also changes the look of the map. The biggest design problem the game has is that the tiles you get are based on RNG. It's not that big of a deal if you just want to complete the level. But doing all the quests and perfectly filling the map (which is the whole point) can easily become impossible if the game just gives you the wrong tiles. "Oh, you want some grass tiles? Here's 3 water tiles for the whole round." You get the idea. Another problem, at the time of this review there seems to be a bug in the Paths section, where you simply cannot progress the game. When you place a tile, you should instantly get another one, but you don't. You are just stuck rotating the placed tile until you remove it.

This game consists of 29 worlds of 7 levels each. You have to finish all levels to be able to proceed to the next world. You start with a simple introduction world and then of course you get new biome tiles and later on, the weather effect which changes tiles in your inventory. Apart from the first and some levels, most have three objectives you have to fulfill. Such objectives are for example placing a number of specific tiles together, enclosing some tiles, make a path... When you fulfill all those and you covered the entire board, you earn a crown for that level. Having a crown is not mandatory to proceed. It's only for an achievement. The tiles are indeed randomized but in my opinion, that doesn't necessarily mean to be a bad thing. Yes, it can be frustrating when getting bad tiles just when you finished an objective or when the weather changed but apart from those moments, you can just undo and redo your move until you get a tile you want. I prefer this rather than having an un...

A good relaxing puzzle game! Pocket Planet is a very colorful and challenging game, full of interesting puzzles and dioramas to complete. The learning curve is pretty smooth and you have time to understand the game and achieve all the stars and the crown on each level.

I really like this game and probably finished the demo like three times? the demo save data would occasionally reset and i'd be like rad time to finish it again lol. in this game you fill in a lil hex map with tiles of various shapes where each tile has a terrain type. the goal is to complete a few tasks (have 5 mountain pieces connected, create a 2 water tile lake, etc) you only need to finish one of the goals to progress but you get 3 stars and a crown for completing all the goals and filling in every tile on the map. the meh: - sometimes i can't 100% a map on first try because i don't know which tile shapes the level is going to give me. its not totally random in that not every map can give you every type of shape. so you might leave a space that can only be filled by a certain piece only to find that this level doesn't give that shape. but the levels are all pretty short so it's not a big deal to just do the level a second time now that you know what shapes it can give you - you ...

Cool take on the tile placing puzzle genre. Think its cute, graphics not high end though.
