This is a fun and crazy take on rc car racing meets Mario kart style racing. where the tracks really do seem to match the classes really well. but the track designs also get more fun, and kinda what you would expect from rc car racing irl. that's when the weapons arrive just as they start getting more technical >:) it's enjoyable, fun and also challenging as you work your way up through the tiers. handling feels pretty good. graphics are not amazing, but they don't feel bad either. pretty good controller support, sadly i can't use my rc transmitter on the game as that would've been a bonus. however still enjoyable :) the bad sides to this game are slightly more tedious, but sadly nothing new in terms of new games no matter the developer or company. it took a few boots for it to load without crashing, and i'm sure a few of them were my fault. like tabbing out as it booted. however after a few load ups, and changes in options. it's been loading fine, and no issues. one or two camera b...

Absolutely a worthwhile play for the price. For those who want a game similar to Re-volt, but definitely has its own unique look and identity as the game develops more and more. It's still definitely not finished, but it's fun nonetheless. The additions of RC race tracks are great, as not many games have them included at all. The cars look great too and handle very similarly to various RC cars I've driven in real life. I do hope more and more variety gets added from all sorts of eras in the history of the RC hobby, from the early days of Tamiya, to the modern day of bashing and RC drifting. I look forward to hopefully seeing more additions added that definitely make RC hobbyists feel seen and represented in a game.
Pros: Re-Volt vibes, Nice music Cons: Poor physics, poor level design In which case I recommend this game? Only if you are a great fan of Re-Volt and tired of playing RVGL all the time. If that is the case, give it a try
very fun to play except it needs more players because it takes a lot to join someone online
this game is surprisingly good and really fun! if you remember RC Revenge Pro form the days of the PS2, same vibes. the cars drive nice the maps are good the only nit pick would be more location variety and more vehicle customization options. otherwise this game is worth it
Played on Linux through Proton, so my technical issues might be caused by that, but at the current state the game is not playable. Optimisation is quite bad, despite not great graphics and simple tracks, FPS is quite average on medium quality settings. In the menu, mouse pointer is extremely small, it's gray and difficult to see. The shouting announcer is completely useless and annoying. Driving model is banal, car just turns and sticks to the ground, there is no dynamic in the game, car turns like if it was on rails and suspension works like a rock, or rather doesn't work. It is possible to flip the car, but you completely don't feel the car, physics are wooden. As for track design, it's not bad, they look completely fine, but it's hard to judge them racing-wise when racing the RC car itself is super easy and there is no speed you can feel. I like that they have some movable objects and ambient sounds. Some weapon pickup effects are quite ugly, pickups are also not balanced. The most ...
This game feels more related to real world RC's with some groovy fun, not as much spice as Re-Volt, but if they added their own sort of Jazz that could make CHARGED:RC Racing a real unique contender would be so cool. Bought it on discount and not disappointed. Well worth it. The standard brightness may need adjusting, as I had to adjust myself in the settings as it was to bright for myself. I'd like to see more paintjobs, suspension adjustments, bottom out, sparks and scratches, Gearing changing, Battery types, Drivetrains and more suspension modelling in the cars. Maybe a Remote Control friendly HUD in the future.
I thought this would be a worthy successor to Re-Volt, but it's not. There's something with the game physics that's really bad and the graphics manage to be inferior to the original game that's over 20 years old.
If you like Re-Volt, you'll like this one. + Fun RC Racing game that will make you nostalgic for Re-Volt + Fast arcade-like racing makes it easy to pick up + Fun tracks in all kinds of environments, from schools and supermarkets to ancient castles and the moon :) + Nice big explosions that can send your RC car flying − Currently no local multiplayer. Would make it a great party game! − Found a minor glitch in a level, but nothing game breaking. Notes: Didn't get it to work with Steam input, but I got it working with DS4Windows for my PS4 controller, by launching DS4Windows before launching Steam.
i cant recommend this game as i have never been able to play it. i try to play single player and it gets to screen that says waiting for other players and just stays on that screen and will not go any further. this is a broken game... EDIT: it appears you have to play all of the warm up races before it will let you play the beginner cup. if you try and go straight to the beginner cup, it just wont work. nowhere does it say this though.
