About This Game

PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree.

The CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?

Up to four friends co-operate on the hits, and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal comes a character customization and crafting system that lets crews build and customize their own guns and gear.

Key Features

  • Rob Banks, Get Paid – Players must choose their crew carefully, because when the job goes down they will need the right mix of skills on their side.
  • CRIMENET – The dynamic contract database lets gamers pick and choose from available jobs by connecting with local contacts such as Vlad the Ukrainian, shady politician "The Elephant", and South American drug trafficker Hector, all with their own agenda and best interests in mind.
  • PAYDAY Gunplay and Mechanics on a New Level – Firing weapons and zip tying civilians never felt so good.
  • Dynamic Scenarios – No heist ever plays out the same way twice. Every single scenario has random geometry or even rare events.
  • Choose Your Skills – As players progress they can invest in any of five special Skill Trees: Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost, Technician and Fugitive. Each features a deep customization tree of associated skills and equipment to master, and they can be mixed and matched to create the ultimate heister.
  • More Masks than Ever – PAYDAY 2 features a completely new mask system, giving players the ability to craft their own unique mask with a pattern and color of their choice, resulting in millions of different combinations.
  • Weapons and Modifications – A brand new arsenal for the serious heister, covering everything from sniper and assault rifles to compact PDWs and SMGs. Once you've settled for a favorite, you can modify it with optics, suppressors, fore grips, reticles, barrels, frames, stocks and more, all of which will affect the performance of your weapon. There are also purely aesthetic enhancements - why not go for the drug lord look with polished walnut grips for your nine?
  • Play It Your Way – Each job allows for multiple approaches, such as slow and stealthy ambushes or running in guns blazing. Hit the target any way you want, each approach will provide a different experience.
  • A Long History of Additional Content – More than 70 updates since release, including new heists, characters, weapons and other gameplay features like driving cars and forklifts.

The game is fun and I love Payday, but after playing for hours and not touching the game in awhile, I come back to it just not starting anymore. At all. It makes no sense since it wasn't ever a problem until a few days ago and I have done literally everything, looked at countless community posts and Reddit posts, even YouTube videos. And it will load if for a few seconds on Steam, then just close each time. Even though I bought this game AND numerous DLCs on sale, it still bothers me that I literally can't play it anymore.

Honestly, after playing this game for so long, it's about time I leave my review. Games are great, as in they're better than Payday 3, but my god, did they decide to fuck this game over before making a new one? Honestly fuck you, Starbreeze, for this dumb shit. Fucking hate the new AI this game has and not following set patterns anymore. On top of ruining the AI, they decided to change mission details like NO Mercy, which used to be completely stealthable, but now apparently is no longer an option, like WTF. Overall, games is great, absolutely better than Payday 3, just hate the developers for fucking the game after they decided to make a new one.

Played on console (PS4) 100+ hours and on PC 60+ hours. This a very fun and addictive game. There are tons of weapons in the game to try out, some being more silly like a flamethrower or a bow and arrow. Lots of skills which can be freely refunded in order to try new things. Each heist is slightly randomized which helps the game's replayability. For example a the vault could be in the back of a bank, but on a different playthrough it could be at the front. A bunch a different masks ranging from cute to funny to just cool looking. Lots of different perks to help your playstyle. All kinds of special enemies to deal with. Two other gamemodes to choose from bring Crimespree which I can only describe as a kinda rougelike when failing a heist ends your spree, and a wave survival mode where you defend a hostage. The game goes on sale regularly but is still worth it full price, with the DLC only adding more stuff. Some DLCs being better or worse admittedly.

The only game where you can play as an 80s chicken head-wearing mass murderer alongside Tony Montana, where you both whack an entire army of SWAT units with a massive spoon to prevent them from stealing your goats while waiting for them to be airlifted

Probably the best entry in the series. I've been playing since it first released on Xbox 360 & PS3. Definitely one of those games where it pays (no pun intended) to have teammates that know what they are doing.
