The Valve Index hmd and controllers are perfectly supported (although no finger tracking): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3161489411 Note, at launch, devs wrote for system requirements that only "Oculus PC" was supported, but they changed that description one day after launch to include a broad range of hmds. About the content. You crash in a helicopter on a mountain top, the pilot dies, you survive in freezing temperatures. Now, having just seen the movie "Society of the Snow" on Netflix, I was looking forward to this experience in safe VR. Also do not worry, you will not be eating the dead pilot to survive in this game :-) The game is a small survival sim, but explanations are sometimes lacking, and this way you may have to do some thinking to solve the tasks. In this perspective you could consider this a small adventure game with some action elements. The game/sim is fun and interesting. For immersion and presence, the game looks like an enhanced Quest 2...

Les Stroud!
The bird poop on the rock was a nice touch.
Short and fun. I learned a thing or two plus les made sure i survived.
6/10 - not bad, never watched 'survivorman', so not a fan. About 1.5 hours total game play, Good, had fun snow sledding and paddling on river nice voice over by Les Stroud guy. Bad, Very Linear, gather things, then walk to a point. wonky crafting, and very plain graphics. no mid-game re-position calibration, can get stuck in crouch position. Ugly, None of so called 'survivor skills' shown in game, I doubt it'll be useful, unless you just happen to find the tool & stuff to use, as it was given in the game. so this VR ain't much in learning in actual surviving. But at 75% sale price, it ain't bad. it's like watching an hour tv show of such.
You sweat, you die! As a long time Survivorman fan, this was a dream come true! You'll switch between being taught survival techniques, like how to light a fire with minimal supplies, and some pure game moments, such as riding down a mountain in half a suitcase (a truly wild ride). It definitely has some tough edges and bugs, but nothing progress blocking that I ran into. The glacier section goes on a little too long, but all the other sections I really enjoyed. It is short, with my first run taking 1hr 20mins, but to me that was the perfect length for something like this. There are leaderboards and a tougher difficulty to get some replay-ability as well. Overall I had a good time with it and will be revisiting it again into the future.
Maybe a bit rough around the edges but this was a fun experience. If you have watched Survivormanm then this is good fun. If you have never watched Survivorman, maybe this game is actually important to play to get some basic survival thinking going to prepare for the day you are actually in danger.
Not bad at all. Totally worth it for 3 bucks. Les Stroud coaches you the entire time.
I found the game very entertaining as well as gaining some real world survival skills along the way, however because its a video game you don't fully understand what your limitations are and what your able to do. I died quite a lot of times but I was ready for the challenge, its like a dark souls game in that way. I really enjoyed the game and the length of time is just right as there are many games I would like to get to in the Awesome VR space.
