Cool idea for a game. It does exactly what it says. It helps you track data points so you can make progress in whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. A lot of the game's content is related to weight and health, so that's probably what the devs initially designed it for (and it's what I am using it for). PROS + Deceptive complexity. It looks really simple, but when you get all of your data inputted, and everything gets up and running, you really start to see how much power is under the hood. + Fun context. The game takes place on a space ship, and you get your own little robot assistant to walk you through the whole experience. The robot comes with a TON of content, and he has something new to share with you pretty much every day. + Meal planning. If you give it enough data, the game will literally plan your weekly meals for you. I'm indecicive, and when I don't plan my meals effectively, I eat like garbage. This is a really great game! Nutrition information is not always easy to find in my home country. But in this game, you can define for yourself what is "healthy". So you don't have to worry about choosing complicated numbers. Because I always do my best to eat more vegetables! My favorite part is that nothing is off limits. Metic tracks your diet and exercise based on your weekly totals, making it flexible and easy to spread your indulgences. As you get older, you start to pay more attention to the food you eat. I can only imagine how much healthier my generation would be if we had things like Meticulous available to us when we were younger. We probably wouldn't be getting any social security by now. Haha. I did have a hard time getting used to moving around. I guess that's not a problem for young people, but my brain doesn't work that way. If you stick with it, you'll get the hang of it though. One thing Meticulous helped me with was keeping track of my sodium. It's crazy how much salt restaurants will put into your food without you knowing. I guess that's what makes it taste good. It's also good for helping keep track of things like protein and calories. Otherwise, you don't even really know what you get during the day. Good luck staying healthy. It seems like the world is stacked against us, but Meticulous gives us a fighting chance. Haha.
Meticulous gives you the freedom to set your own goals giving you more opportunities to keep track of your health in different ways. Of course, I can keep track of my calories, but I can also track how much time I spend on my phone or how many times I eat out in a week. While it does take a bit of time to set up all your goals and recipes once you get that done coming back once a week to make sure I am hitting my goals is quick and easy. My biggest piece of feedback is that there should be either different names or categories than macro, recipes, and ingredients. Overall, it does a great job of making sure I keep myself on track for my health goals and build habits to create a healthier lifestyle.
Upon starting the game it is immediately clear how intuitive and useful Meticulous is at gamifying health and lifestyle improvements. It does so much to encourage and organize one through personal milestones. Very inclusive of different dietary and physical needs and requirements and easy to understand and stick with. It is a clear labor or passion.
Meticulous is something I never knew I needed. I've tried other weight loss programs, like Weight Watchers for example, and although I lost some weight I found it wasn't sustainable. Meticulous has helped me to develop a different relationship with my diet. By thinking about my macros on a weekly basis, I can be flexible with fitting in "guilty" foods or eating out without completely derailing my goals. In addition, Meticulous is a more well-rounded health solution by including fitness and mental well-being goals. Actually you can track any type of goal you may have, such as a budgeting goal or including more fun activities into your week. Keeping track of so many different facets of your life all in one place would be very a tedious task, but Meticulous makes it easy and fun.
This game is a new exciting way to develop and create your own path going forward excited for the updates to come. The game has a clean design, and like many workout apps if you learn the lingo it can be very effective
It took me a few minutes to figure out how to set up the macros at first, but once they were set up, planning a weekly workout routine took no time at all!
Very interesting concept. I was able to use my Withings hardware and record my results to see trends in almost every aspect of my health and fitness goals. I was also able to record data from my iPhone and Apple Watch to gain a more comprehensive look at my overall health stats. I'm looking forward to using this application to record other goals (daily and long-term achievements and goals). This is an incredibly open-ended application which can provide an infinite number of goals and achievements.
