About This Game

Obliterate enemies using your powerful RiftTech. Collect experience. Level up. Become unstoppable!

Take command of the Rift Rangers, powerful sentai tasked with protecting the Earth from evil forces – especially those with lasers and sharp claws pouring through a dimensional instability rift from The Master Brain.

To save the planet, you must enter the rift and use your RiftTech to hold back overwhelming hordes of inter-dimensional monsters for 20 increasingly intense minutes – until your Mega Mecha can finalize its power-up cycle and stomp them all!

MONSTER MAYHEM

Every minute you survive, the monstrous hordes will increase in number. Your survival depends on becoming a force of devastating destruction, obliterating all enemies in your path.

UPGRADE OR DIE

Use the powerful dimensional energy from your slain enemies to continually upgrade your RiftTech. Be warned! The unstable nature of the energy causes randomized upgrade choices so choose carefully.

BECOME AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE

The right combination of weapons can create a synergistic force of awesome destruction that will annihilate all enemies, making you truly unstoppable!

The wrong choice will undoubtedly result in your crushing defeat. No pressure!

20 MINUTES UNTIL THE BOOT COMES DOWN

These monsters are no match for our Mega Mecha! But it needs 20 minutes to finalize the power up cycle. And then it can stomp these fiendish foes back into the inter-dimensional oblivion they came from! Can you survive long enough?

REFUSE TO DIE!

Death is permanent! Mostly. Unless you refuse to die and try again! When the rift ends, through survival or death, upgrades reset. But you keep the energy chips you collected! Use them to buy permanent upgrades and help superpower your sentai!

Rift Rangers has everything you can can expect from a Vampire Survivor clone, WITH THE EXCEPTION that it has its very own gameplay and an overall pristine presentation you rarely see in the Bullet heaven genre. To put it simply instead of getting some abilities like in 99% of other Bullet Heaven games here you spam towers and this mechanics is very well designed. It is not what you would expect from reading "Tower based game" it is more dynamic than you would imagine. I wish the devs had a little bit more ambition by adding more stuff on the map and more features in general but there is already definitely enough to keep you playing for hours with 4 characters, many builds, maps, super powers and a decent list of achievments and more. The game is complete and that what matters the most really. B Tier in the genre -> 7/10

So, what happens when you get inspiration to add either Kamen Rider or more recognizably, the Power Rangers into an Arena-Lite, you get this monstrosity of a game. The Good: Unlike many other Arena-Lites, you'll have to be a bit strategic about how to get rid of the "Bad Guys". I will say that there's a lot to unpack when you first start, but as you understand what you need to do, things become very simple. You do as you would do when in a Roguelite (Or in this case, an Arenalite) and then you get ready to run again. I will say that capturing the brain to get stat increases is different as most of them will lock that behind bosses themselves. I'm also loving the music and the pixel art done in this game and for a few person team, it shows that the little guy still have fight and can often times bring a better stylized game to the table. The Bad If I have any complaints, it's that it doesn't appeal to the newer players when you get deep into runs and a bit of knowledge in the ...

What a fantastic little game and you can't beat the price. The different towers are unique and have their own quirks and strengths. I'm finding both beam turrets to be my favorite. Focusing on turret rate of fire and damage upgrades seems to be my best strategy but a few movement speed upgrades is definitely necessary. Survive for 20 minutes and upgrade your abilities, then move up the temporal instability for added challenge. I'm finding myself loading it up when I want a quick and casual game. Looking forward to more rangers and hopefully some strategic differences in their gameplay. Easy recommend!

Absurdly fun Roguelite Bullet Heaven/Tower Defense where your attacks are your towers. Your towers are usable skills that you relocate wherever you need to go with cooldowns to prevent spamming them. Has permanent upgrades, unlocks, and roguelite levels where you can upgrade your towers or your character's stats. Can't recommend highly enough!

This game is the perfect combination of addictive, rewarding, and throw-your-controller-across-the-room frustrating. I played with no problem on my Steam Deck. Definitely play with audio. The music is awesome and the sfx are super satisfying! Really well done, Epic Story!!

A fun little game, played it while streaming it to a friend and didn't seem to have any system difficulties despite having a slightly out of date system now. If you enjoyed Vampire Survivors or Tower Defense games in the past, this has similar vibes to both while still being its own thing, a good variety of towers to select from and upgrades to pick for each of them, knowing when and where to place each tower when going after boss brains is very important, and there seem to be multiple correct builds you can go to succeed in the 20 minute timed stages, though we only got to the second level of difficulty in our brief time playing. Would fully recommend.

Rift Rangers plays like a vampire survivors like, but with elements of tower defense. You need to move around the map capturing points and your attacks all come from little towers you build. I really love the gameplay loop and there aren't enough Sentai/Power Ranger themed games on the market. If you like this style of game and you like the tokusatsu/power ranger theme, I highly recommend it. That said, I'm surprised this isn't in early access. For this genre, Rift Rangers is pretty content light, so if you don't care about the theme, there are plenty of other games in this style with more content on offer. No complaints about the weapon selection, but there are only two stages and two bosses. There are also only four rangers, which is a strange number to have, since most ranger teams are three or five. The title screen even has space for another ranger or two. I really hope they update the game with more content, although getting 8-10 hours of gameplay for this price isn't bad at al...

Good and fun especially for the price but the only issue i have so far is the Black ranger just isn't that good. Bombs are interesting but require the enemies to walk into them making the point captures near impossible at late runs. The drop and run strat isn't very fun and trying to run in for the exp is awful to and will get you killed. Maybe bombs need a buff or more bombs need to be added. I'd like to see the bombs move their way to enemies since they are bug shaped. maybe even have an upgrade that makes them prioritize groups and exploding when the most enemies are in range and not instantly in range too. IDK just giving my thoughts but games great so far and look forward to future updates.

Starting HP is entirely too low. Enemy projectiles are not telegraphed well enough, i.e they are difficult to see. Towers take up a lot of screen space. Interesting idea, just not implemented well.

It is not the deepest of Bullet Heavens by any means, but it does have a bangin soundtrack and fun art style. I do with there were more maps than 2 but for a few bucks this is a good time for about 10-15 hours if you want to get everything done. You unlock functionally everything at the 5-ish hour mark though, then it is just murdering hordes.
