About This Game

Historical background:

China was in the heyday of the Tang Dynasty from the 7th to the 8th century, which was the peak of China's feudal society. The social economy was highly developed, the Silk Road was prosperous again, and the people lived a prosperous life. The Kaiyuan period was also the most prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty, known as the Kaiyuan Prosperity.

Game features:

Urban economy

As a city builder, you need to fully consider the needs of the people and the distribution of work, and trade with other cities to obtain stable urban finance income.

Transportation system

You need to coordinate the supply of goods between cities and regions, establish an efficient transportation system, and allocate limited resources to the places where they are most needed.

Train the army and appoint generals

You need to build a strong army to defend the city. When expanding the army on a large scale, you need to consider whether the city's finance is affordable. You will find that training an elite army can greatly improve the city's defense capability. You can also appoint generals for your army. The combat effectiveness of soldiers under the command of generals will be enhanced.

Build a palace

In the game, you need to build a famous palace building in the Tang Dynasty, which requires a lot of manpower and building materials. This task is undoubtedly a huge challenge.

Simulate the real environment

The game automatically alternates day and night, and automatically changes seasons. Of course, you can also set a fixed season according to your own preferences.

Restore History

Each city you build in the game is a real city in the Tang Dynasty of China. There will also be historical events consistent with the era in the game, such as the Kaiyuan Prosperity, the An Shi Rebellion, and so on.

This game is very much like an old Sierra game called Emperor. However the buildings are more detailed. The most noticeable feature is the market arrangements Anyone who has played Sierra will say yes i've seen that before. Do not let that put you off. The feeling's maybe the same but the game is not. Graphics and detail are excellent for games in this price range. When the game lights up at night you can not help but say wow. There is a call for soldiers so you people who like a bit of a scrap will not be dissapointed. It is a game that also has what most westerners do not have and what our far Eastern friends do have lots off and that's Patience so be warned because you will need it. If you wish to argue with my comments remember us old folks are not put off by a life sentence.

A homage to the old Sierra/Impressions games, in particular to Emperor: Rise of the middle kingdom. It's good. Could be better, as it doesn't innovate much on the original formula, and the animations are a little coarse, but it's good and, above all, a pleasure to watch. The lamps illuminating your city at night are really pretty. Game runs well in Linux via Wine/Proton.

I have a hard time reviewing this game. It doesn't do anything new or really special, the UI is old fashioned, the game is clunky in more ways than one, and it's basically just a simpler Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom. But somehow I had a lot of fun with it. It has a similar puzzle element as the old Impressions games. There is always a rock where it shouldn't be. Or the map is cut in half by a mountain and it's a long track to get to the other side, or you can only import very limited resources so you have to calculate how many houses you want to evolve, but if you don't evolve houses it can be pretty hard to make money (things are expensive and trading is quite limited). Once you figure out how the logistics works, the city building is very flexible, you don't really have to make efficient blocks. What I liked: -Flexible building, there are many ways to design your cities, which is nice -Working military. It's pretty much the same as Caesar III's (with the awkward control a...

This game is beautiful! I love the old school graphics and the atmosphere created in this game! It's a lot better than I expected! I haven't built an army or had any battles yet, and I'm still really enjoying the game just for the city building, and economy management. Progress from building a basic settlement to a self-sustaining town to is surprisingly complex, and there's a lot of management to be done. A lot more than I expected, so the depth to this game is great for the price! I'm still figuring out the economy and trading system, but the tutorial that guides you along the way does it's job. It won't teach you how to do things efficiently, but it will teach you the basics. Which is good. That way you know how to use the systems, but have to fine tune your efficiency through trial and error (as you should). The pacing of this game is a little slower than City Skylines, but very enjoyable to watch the growth, and discover the depth of it's systems. I was very surprised that you...

Solid classic-style citybuilder (like Caesar 3/Pharaoh/Emperor), with a charming lofi artstyle.
