To be crystal clear: this is not a bad game but it's not without its flaws. I know some people didn't think it was anything to write home about and it's easy to reach that conclusion. In the beginning, your initial weapon choice, upgrades and damage you do early on are all really underwhelming. Feels like you're not going anywhere fast. But where I disagree is I found destroying wave after wave of enemies pretty satisfying once you got over the initial slog of lasting a few minutes and dying unceremoniously. The only reason I persisted with it in the first place is I've been going through some tough things and I was simply looking for something I can turn my brain off to and just enjoy without having to worry about puzzles or strategy and this fit the bill. I played it for 5-6 hours initially, didn't finish and thought I would come back to it eventually and I'm glad I did.
