I really wanna love this game, but there are two things killing it for me right now: meta progression, and time to kill. Leveling up characters to unlock perks OUTSIDE of the individual runs just doesn't feel good to me. I feel like I'm cheating instead of just getting better at the game. I played through the first area (Fenrir) without touching the skills and I had a good time, but when I got to the second area (big snake), the tankier enemies made the levels feel like a slog, especially with starter/early weapons. For example, the starter pistol deals 1 dmg per shot, and on the first two stages you can expect 10-20hp enemies. Not even a difficulty thing, it's just time consuming to cut through them. It also cuts the other way, with the Player having ~7 HP, but most enemies dealing 1 to 2 damage. I'm still following this game, because I'm interested to see how it shapes up through early access. But I would be much more interested if the abilities I see in the Skill lists were ...
