About This Game

You wake up alone in the hospital, remembering nothing with the only desire - to find out the whole truth that the walls of Chernobyl hide. Old videos will be your true friend on the way to finding the truth. Study the evidence in detail and be extremely careful, as radiation can be dangerous to the health of the main character. Several storylines, an amazing atmosphere and an unpredictable ending await you in this game.

You will be a living target! Do not stand still and move more, then you can achieve your goal.

Gameplay

This game is primarily a "walking simulator" genre with puzzle-solving elements.

VHS special filter on screen: VHS aesthetic emulates the look and feel of CRT screens including phosphor screen trail and bleeding.

A large open world with many terrible secrets awaits you. Use your inventory and read each note to solve challenging tasks in the game.

I bought this game on a whim because of its price and its under the horror category. I REALLY liked the overall vibe and style of this game. However, there are several bugs with jump scares happening outside of activating anything, the jump scared are more like EAR blasts, and I got stuck several times in equipment I wasn't supposed to be in (bus, car, bed, and wall). I'd love to play this again in the future if it gets worked on and the puzzles are more prepared, aka there is more paperwork or ways to understand the puzzles.

A new VHS style horror game for just 1$ with a story surrounding the tragic Chernobyl incident. The game its not short either. It will take some time until you find all the codes for the doors. Aside from some minor bugs and the fact that you can't turn off the VHS effect this 1$ game is worth it and it will give you a couple of hours of gameplay, story and puzzles + you get the chance to support an indie dev!

Developed by Philip Efimov, Chernobyl is a first person exploration horror. The price is just short of being free, although this doesn't retract from the fact that the game is riddled with bugs, clipping through the environment and hard to understand puzzles. Graphics wise is nothing to write home about, although, for some reason, I noticed some FPS drops here and there. I can recommend it only based on price. https://youtu.be/TzHGAQaH4pA

Even though this game was only a dollar... I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. It's insanely buggy... has the most absurd "jump scare" attempts (and I'm using that term lightly with this game)... and has no story within it to keep you enthralled with the game. Which is sad... because I play ANYTHING that has to do with Chernobyl... even played S.W.A.N. and with all it's issues it's still a much better game than this one. If you receive it for free... maybe give it a go for yourself... but trust me... don't waste your money on something that was done purely for profit and not for the love of the horror genre or Chernobyl.

Unoptimized, buggy and clunky with absurd jumpscares.

a good game for the first project. A couple of fixes and there will be an ideal!
