When I made my Steam account in the summer of 2012, I played a lot of free and cheap games, but this was the 1st full priced game I got! <3 while I also platinumed it on PS3, getting back to this game is great! <3 the music is also fantastic! And the lego humor is there too! Highly Recommended!

I absolutely love LOTR, so I cant believe it took me this long to play the Lego game for it and The Hobbit, although Ive steered away from Lego The Hobbit because it is permanently unfinished. Even so, they both still play beautifully. I can also confirm despite being "Unsupported", Lego LOTR and The Hobbit run great on Steam Deck. Now if only we could get Conquest, The Third Age, etc...
this is the pinnacle of gaming, we have just been taking steps backwards since the original release of lego lord of the rings
Love the old school Lego games. Looks beautiful on Steam Deck and runs great. I did need to install a custom proton to get it working properly, otherwise there would be some graphical issues. I'll list the steps below in case others are facing the same: 1. Go to desktop mode. 2. Open Discover and search for ProtonUp-Qt. 3. Download and install the software. 4. Once completed, open the program and click Add Version. Select GE-Proton from the Compatibility tool drop-down list. Select the latest version from the Version drop-down list. Click install. 5. Go back to gaming mode and navigate to the game properties for Lego: The Lord of the Rings. Go to Compatibility and check the box to 'Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool'. Select the GE-Proton version that you just installed. 6. Start the game and the graphical issues should be resolved.

THEY'RE TAKING THE HOBBITS TO ISENGARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's fun and has an incredible story but any keyboard player if you don't want weird controls you have to do annoying keybinds It's also had me doing the first boss 3 times but it is fun
Nostalgic but Flawed Gem Lego The Lord of the Rings holds a special place in my heart. I remember having a blast playing it as a kid, and revisiting it over a decade later brought back so many good memories. That said, the PC version isn’t without its problems. Platforming can feel frustrating at times, with invisible walls or awkward climbing sections getting in the way. I also ran into several glitches, like the game insisting I hadn’t collected an item I clearly already had. These issues make progression more annoying than it should be. But when it comes to capturing the charm of the Lord of the Rings books and films, this game really shines. The humor, clever references, and the open-world fetch quests are all wonderfully done, adding that signature LEGO charm to Middle-earth. Overall, while the PC version struggles with technical hiccups (likely due to compatibility with newer systems), it still delivers a fun and nostalgic experience. 6.5/10 – A nostalgic adv...
