Right now, REMATCH is in a lot of trouble.
In the beginning, as noted by many reviews, the main issue was that the majority of the playerbase avoided passing the ball, often causing the opponents to score easy goals after jamesgonzales08473927 tried dribbling and flicking past 3 defenders instead of passing the ball. This issue is the least of my worries now. Some of the core gameplay feels so flawed that I wonder if the game was even playtested before release. A few examples: 1) Goalkeeper behavior – They manage to catch well-placed and powerful shots on the far post, but are utterly incapable of saving low passes and concede goals where the ball goes through them. Sometimes, you jump in a certain direction and the game somehow interprets it as another direction. 2) Passing sensitivity – Passes work only 50% of the time because of the very high sensitivity. Every match, a player trying to make a simple forward pass will often end up spinning aroun...

This game is fun and unique however. There are game breaking things that need to be fixed ASAP. -Net Code. Net code has been a problem since the beta and i will say has gotten "somewhat" better with less ghost hits. On top of that many players are having 3 major bugs i believe are related to net code. 1) Is the amount of times in a match where you just can't move at all.. randomly out of nowhere your character just stops moving and your unable to do ANYTHING. In heated OT it sucks to lose a game cause of this.. i'm trying to want to continue to play this game but if this isn't fixed this game will slowly die for goalie interest IMO. 2) Goalie Priority, the amount of times I've played good game in goalie for it to be ruined by the game throwing me into a fall over stun lock like the server believes the ball is in my hands, which it should be from the get go. but then they score cause i'm stuck in a animation and can't move, am I wrong to believe goalie should have the highest prio...

Devs have a good idea here, but have completely fumbled the bag in execution, making the game worse after updates rather than improving in areas that were obviously flawed. The game is in a very broken state and should not have been released like this. I hope they make it better, but I'm not investing my time until I see positive feedback from other players.

the developers are happy to take your money, but not happy enough to update the game to a playable state.
GOOD JOB! NICE! WELL PLAYED! TEKKERS!
As someone who platinum’d Sifu on PS4, bought it again on Steam just to do it all over again, and was hoping for a sequel, I was disappointed when I heard Sloclap was making a football game. I’m not even a football fan, so my expectations were low and then I played the beta, and I was instantly sold. Rematch is at the moment, very flawed, but it’s also fantastic. Its arcade style, fast-paced chaos hooked me immediately, with unique, intuitive gameplay loop that feels incredibly satisfying once it clicks. Matches are short and sweet, with the occasional overtime madness. Unfortunately, it’s clear the game needed more time and probably should've been delayed. The netcode is inconsistent, bugs are frequent to the point it's annoying, defense(especially for goalies) needs more love, teamplay isn’t properly incentivized (leading to selfish plays), no way to report shitty teammates and the variety of game modes is very limited. De...

I really wanted to enjoy Rematch, but in its current state, the game feels completely unplayable. Here’s why: Team Balance & Matchmaking -Teammates often leave right after conceding a single goal. -Even if you’re consistently the top scorer with the most points, you end up losing again and again because the teams are so unfairly balanced. Bugs & Exploits -Players are abusing bugs to gain unfair advantages. -Some animations give opponents unstoppable moves that you simply cannot counter. Servers & Gameplay Issues -The servers don’t run smoothly; the ball frequently teleports. -Aerial duels are pure coin flips, depending only on which animation gets priority instead of skill. Conclusion As much as I wanted this game to succeed, right now it’s a frustrating and unfair experience. Between the broken matchmaking, server problems, and bugs, Rematch feels like a total waste of money in its current form.

Fun but the game is lacking a ton of features you'd expect on release for a game in 2025. - Game has only recently come out but there's already a big focus on MTX whilst the game is suffering from a ton of issues. Terrible to see for a paid game - Netcode is still pretty bad. Players and the ball teleporting around, tackles not connecting, saves not counting and players constantly disconnecting from matches. The list goes on - No report functionality. So many idiots on the game that throw as soon as a single goal is conceded - No form of "trust/reputation" factor in the game for the ranked mode, resulting in everyone ball hogging and refusing to play as a team. People often purposely throw when they get assigned goalkeeper, just so they can play outfield - No way to "block" teammates to prevent getting them in successive games. Feels terrible when you get a thrower in successive games. - Ranked is super basic and only offers a 5v5 mode. Needs a few more modes such as 3v3 or 4v4, as we...

Game’s a joke. Every patch adds more bugs than it fixes. Servers run like they’re powered by a potato. Goalkeeping is RNG hell you dive perfectly, time it right, and the ball still slides through like your input meant nothing, all with added desync on top. Defense is pure luck whoever gets prio first just shoots through 3 defenders like they don’t exist. Replays don’t even show what actually happened. You outplay your opponent and the game still screws you over. Players teleport to the ball. Tackles don’t work, slides are pointless. And top ranks? Just missile-spamming no-skill clowns praying for priority. Total mess... I want my 35€ back.

No blacklist/report system, you can't play ranked since there always will be a kid ruining your game and you can not do anything with that. Every game has bugs and issues, can be patched. But people will leave the game if nothing is done to improve a qulity of ranked games.
