Might be the most satisfying action game I've ever played in my entire life It's hard, but worth it. Use a controller.
Give Sifu 2. I need it. You should buy then punch people as it feels good. Then do it more until you die and become an old man. Play the arena's they are where the real fun begins. Otherwise wait for a sale or you may not get your money's worth if you care about that sorta thing.
Worst camera in a video game ive played to date, feel like im constantly wrestling with the camera to see what im fighting.
My favorite action game 2nd to Nioh 2. This game is really, really, really, really, really, really good. It is a 3rd person brawler beat-em-up action game, lots of labels these days but I hope that explains it well enough. It has a focus on parrying enemies and crowd control. You don't have to master either of these to beat the game, but it's encouraged to be replayed (it's a very short game overall), and if you stick with it you'll find a great experience you can hop into from time to time if you want to have some coffee in the morning and relax. I relate it a bit like an instrument, there's a lot of notes you can hit to make your own music while you beat up people. You can use a ton of moves that are all the "right" thing to do, and make some sick fight scenes. If you can avoid getting hit, the world is your oyster in Sifu. This game is about 2h in the story mode on a fresh save if you blitz it (when you're good), so it's very enjoyable to hop in once or twice a month once you're g...
A fascinating game with a truly unique party-trick. If you are into challenging games, Sifu is definitely worth giving a go! Pros: 1) Snappy and satisfying mechanics. Sifu WILL punish you for getting the timing wrong on a parry, but when that perfect dodge or parry is executed, it is oh-so-satisfying! 2) A intriguing story hook and age-gimmick. The whole idea of ageing for every time you get defeated is quite fascinating and is a fresh take on the consequences of failure. 3) Artistically fascinating and beautiful. This is not going for hyper-realism, of course, but the stylised art direction works really well and will allow it to age gracefully and look good even ten years from now. Cons: 1) Not that much enemy variety. The variety is decent, but I would have definitely liked to have seen more. 2) Areas often get locked off once you pass through a door. It can be quite frustrating when this happens, especially for a first play-through, as it kills the sense of exploration. Note...
It's fun but very difficult. You will have to put time into getting good and boss fights don't feel fun compared to fighting a bunch of dudes. The progression and aging systems feel too complex than they need to be
So i got the first ending on normal difficulty with an age over 70. It was fun, but thats it for my skill level. You biggest enemy is yourself, after that the camera.
I find it funny how a lot of people are so focused on the combat system. I mean, sure it is the main point of the game. The combat flows incredibly well. Skill acts not like an upgrade but a meaningful addition to the tool set you can utilise during the combat. The level design and the age mechanism basically makes replaying the game an essential part of the game experience and thus by extension, ends up adding immense replay value to the game. I wouldn't really recommend student difficulty to anyone at all and master difficulty only for people who have already beaten the game on low ages. The game also puts a lot of emphasis on mastery by repetition and practise via death. Those that leave the game early under, say something like, 10-12 hours of playtime were probably too quick to judge the game. Yeah but by focusing too much, I meant to say they forget to mention the incredible art direction of the game. All the levels have a strong sense of art direction that depict the na...
Unique aging mechanics. Punishing but satisfying to master combat. Every level is beautifully crafted. Has a decent amount of content even after beating the game. 10/10.
