Sonic Adventure 2

This game is garbage, but it's MY garbage I first played this game when I was probably 8 years old, and I've loved it ever since I've played it every year for the past 10 years. And I'm 28. Is the story good? No Are the animations good? No Is it a well put together game that functions as intended? No Do the controls make sense? No But despite all that, it's FUN. IT'S SO MUCH FUN, AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I WOULD DIE FOR MY CHAO. PUMPKIN HILL 4EVER. I KNOW THE WORDS TO ALL THE SONGS. WHY ISN'T THERE A TRUE GLITCHLESS CATEGORY FOR SPEEDRUNNING? GET THE BATTLE DLC, LOOK 4 BIG THE CAT. SONIC DX IS GARBAGE TOO BUT I LOVE IT JUST AS MUCH. SONIC4LYFE

i really enjoed the game. Especially my kids love the game. But since Windows 11, it crashes constantly and sometimes won't even starti. A pity.

in my opinion, the best sonic game, i beat it and its really fun and cool (this was also the first ever sonic game ive beaten) so, conclusion: yes. buy this game. fully worth it. :)

On of my most precious memories of the GameCube era are tied to this game. And I feel like it has left a mark not only on the Sonic community, but on the gaming community as a whole. (playing it again reminded me how jarring the infamous ovelapping lines in the cutscenes are, though)

I've played through this game on every platform but the original Dreamcast and then multiple playthoughs with that. Yes I have a problem. But I can't stop. Do it for the Chao.

I'm kind of sad giving this a negative review because I love Sonic Adventure 2 and I do think it still holds up in a lot of aspects, but holy cow the port is giving me trouble. Crashes randomly sometimes, has issues with frame/refresh rate speeding up the game, doesn't have good controller support without getting a custom Steam Input map and can't ever alt tab out of fullscreen. To finish talking about the negatives, the Tails/Eggman missions are very slow and most of the bosses are kinda too easy or repetitive. A lot of people criticize the story and voice acting but I think it serves its purpose, basically just being a reason to have these different levels for you to play. Now for the good, I will give SEGA a lot of credit for not doing the Nintendo thing and actually putting their games back into the market for a reasonable, affordable price. Played original on GameCube, hasn't aged well but still has one of my favorite songs on the first level :P.

This game is so horrifically horrendous I don't even understand how people like it. Things don't work, things don't connect. If you tap your stick in the wrong direction ONCE it sends you to a alternate dimension and just kills you. I cannot express how HORRIBLE the sound design is either. Sounds are just LOUD for no reason, and then the voices are so quiet. Its like a bunch of monkeys got together and tried to make a game. I understand that this game is older, I really do, but its time to take the nostalgia glasses off and see this game for what it really is. Move on, the chao garden poo poo doggy doo. SEGA put it in another game, I don't care. Remake this game or something and make it playable because oh my goodness I have not felt such rage before in a game just not WORKING right. Game stutters after playing for about 10-15mins. I tried everything from making it compatible for windows 7, using an emulator, lower resolution, vsync, fram rate evrything blah blah and those split stutters keep coming back. I feel like I wasted my money over something I cant play right and I just got my mid high end gaming laptop. Feels like a scam, is in my library sitting there for nothing now, please dont buy. the same problems might happen to you if you're gonna buy this.
