This is a great strategy game that has a lot of replay potential. It starts easy, but the difficulty ramps up considerably if you go for the bonus objectives. Different stats, abilities, and spells give you opportunities to tackle levels in different ways. This is not a random-number-generator-type game, so in general, you'll know the outcome of an action before you take it. The challenge comes from strategizing how to clear the map of baddies by triggering bonus actions, stringing together multiple maneuvers, and setting yourself up with a good position for the following turn. The sparse dialog is reflects a dry wit that I found enjoyable.

This game is really addicting. Very Rogue-like combined with almost puzzle level of combat. The combat is really unique (and fun) because there's nothing random to it. You can tell what the results will be when you plan out your action. Sounds easy, right? Nope. Combat hinges on combinations either doing more damage, striking more opponents, gaining you bonuses or completing the mission in time to complete an objective. Game is easy to learn, but it will take some time to master. The conversations are great with hidden gems of sarcasm getting thrown is so subtly you may need to read them twice. So far it's been very fun.

I'm blown away at how accessible this game is to different types of players. As someone who struggles to remember mechanics when stepping away from a game, it's awesome to be able to check in and remind myself of the skill I need for an area. The game is fun to play and satisfying. I also love the chameleon.

This game is really fun and relaxing to play. I appreciate a simple & straightforward puzzle game that doesn't cause me stress when I can't figure something out. Even though it's a chill game to play, there are still some levels that trip me up and I find myself running away from enemies. It forces me to really sit down and figure out how to leverage the skills I have, and explore the non-obvious spells that can actually make you pretty OP. I can't count how many times I sat down to play a single level, and ended up zoning out and clearing an entire region by accident. I'm glad to see the art and animation being added in, it's bee cool to see new updates like the nemesis statue and the saplings in the campfire.

I have played this for a few hours now and it is a lot of fun! The mechanics are relatively simple to understand but the stages are often challenging and I found myself re-playing some of them to try to win all of the objectives. This game is still in the early stages but definitely has huge potential and shows a lot of promise. If you are into strategy games you should give this a shot!

This game is a genuine delight. As someone who shies from similar titles because I find turn-based strategy both confusing and exhausting, Quarterstaff has made it so much easier to parse, process, and just enjoy the combat outright. Additionally, the combat system is so much more robust than I could have hoped for. There are a lot of little details that make this game shine. The sound cues, the witty writing, the very enjoyable ease of access to elements that are usually overlooked. All around awesome and I'm looking forward to sitting down for a nice long session very soon.

Quarterstaff is one of the best turn-based, tactical RPGs I’ve played. Positives: - Excellent tutorialization of features through gameplay. The game introduces its systems gradually, with perfect pacing to keep you engaged but not overwhelmed. - Drops you straight into the story and the gameplay. Instead of overwhelming with backstory, it raises questions to make you curious and reveals just enough to keep you wanting more. - Very strong systems design with lots of different ways to play. The game genuinely supports multiple play styles and encourages you to experiment. - Excellent balance of humor and drama. I loved the little touches like the names and titles of NPCs changing from line to line for humorous effect. - Beatitiful art and (especially) animations. - You can always undo your last move, which is a brilliant way to learn how the different moves work and avoid frustration of a misclick. Negatives: - There are a *lot* of systems. Even though they are introduced gradual...

Perfect Study break game. You can play for five minutes of five hours. Thoughtful and fun, this turn based combat game walks the balance between challenging but playable, and detailed but not confusing. You really get out of it what you want to put in. Simple combat. Done! Thoughtful strategy and tactics. You do better! Really love this game. Can't wait for it to come out on my phone.

Really fun, self-paced puzzle game. Some very interesting challenges, unlike any other game I've played lately. If you enjoy problem solving and keeping your mind sharp, while still having fun with a dash of humor and relaxing music and ambiance, you will enjoy this.
