About the Game

This Sokoban-styled game is all about placing the correct notes in their respective spaces on the map, forming the songs that you will hear throughout the adventure.
Designed with an old school feel in mind, SokoMelody's intent is to make you feel like you're playing on a Game Boy.

Levels

The game consists of 100 hand crafted levels, that are divided on separate music genres:
  • Rock'n Roll / Pop Rock
  • Classical
  • Jazz
  • Disco / Dance

Each one thought to be a complement of the other with creative design and interesting mechanics

Story

In the game you're part of a band and you, and your friends, are trying to compose some songs to play on the show. To "compose" the songs you have to pass through all levels and unlock the songs so you'll be able to play them.

Can you compose them all, and help our characters get to the show with their songs?

Mechanics

Based on the Sokoban style games, push the boxes towards the corresponding spaces on the ground

For less than a dollar, I got more enjoyment out of it than I should have. If you like old-school Zelda puzzles from Gameboy, NES, and SNES days, you will enjoy this. Puzzles range from a donkey could solve this to wtactualfuck?

Sokoban is always good for exercising your reasoning. In a pixelart style with insertions of musical notes and as the game progresses, new melodies will be unlocked. He likes!

I usually like sokoban puzzles but this one wasn't the case. Classic Sokoban games usually consist of a series of puzzles with calming background music and the introduction of mechanics over time that slowly but surely increase the difficulty, challenging the player in the process. This game is no exception to that rule as it does that with 90 levels with a theme centered around symphonies and some tracks to go by that. However, the story doesn't end there as the game isn't polished enough in its current state to be recommended. Some levels you may encounter glitches upon arriving at the answer as well as in the level selection itself which after a certain threshold didn't allow me to go back and perfect earlier ones. There is also a certain mechanic introduced in the later half that is not explained and locks your game from further progress. In fact, I've tried contacting the dev team about it only to be left hanging on an answer. That's too bad since until that point this used to b...
