Still holds up incredibly well for a game from 1998, which is pretty amazing. The cinematic presentation was absolutely mind blowing for its time and still feels impressive today. Shadow Moses Island is such an iconic setting and the whole facility feels believable and lived in. Psycho Mantis fight is legendary for how it breaks the fourth wall and messes with you as a player. Voice acting is top notch throughout, really brought these characters to life in a way games rarely did back then. Stealth gameplay is tight and satisfying, hiding in cardboard boxes never gets old. Story strikes that perfect balance between serious spy thriller and complete Kojima weirdness. Codec conversations are surprisingly engaging and full of interesting details. Graphics are obviously dated but the art direction is so strong it still looks good. Some boss fights are genuinely challenging and memorable. Controls feel a bit clunky by modern standards but you adapt quickly.

Banger game, loved it!. Since the last years update, where they fixed the crashes and bugs, its running really smooth. I just can recommend it. Graphics are good, controls are (for a a remastered game from the 90s) great. REally good story. MGS is just peak.
fun and historically important game with hours of content and a fun story, what's not to like. BUT, 100%ing it is taking a fraction of my soul, I'm never getting back the hours spent on VR Missions which are actually just boring and painful to complete.
I wouldn't recommend this game in its current state. You're better off emulating it using Retroarch (I don't support the developer of Duckstation) that you can find on Steam, for free too. The control systems is abysmal, game is locked to 25-30 FPS. runs at 240p, & has no widescreen support. If you only want the achievements, then its probably okay, but the original game itself is very, very hard, and this game version makes it frustrating to play even further. Don't buy it. Its a lazy Playstation 1 emulator masquerading as a full PC port.
Had to mash buttons. Controller was not cutting it so I moved on to mashing my keyboard. My pointer finger and middle finger now have friction burn from mashing. Of course, that was after I found out you could just turn on hold to repeat in the controller settings and avoid raw fingers. 11/10 game, would recommend.
I used the MGSHDFix mod to fix only subtle problems. Controls are completely outdated, but still a great game.
my snake is solid
A must play Classic!
10 / 10 Just like one of my Japanese animes
This is the most autistic shit I've ever played.
