Got this game in a bundle with Lost In Random: The Eternal Die since it was the same price as the latter alone. This game isn't bad, but it's not that good, either. The game ends runs at the first biome for the first complete run, then the second biome for the second complete run, etc. as part of its structure, which I found oddly annoying. The main character's lance weapon is interesting, but somehow chaining lance actions between each other and the basic punch attack doesn't feel great. Like, doing the full 3-part lance combo doesn't neatly link to a punch combo without dashing forward. And enemies constantly fall out of the punch combo by the second hit, even though it's a 3-part combo. So they really flubbed the basics of the moveset here. This game's equivalent of Hades Boons aren't very exciting and only increase in power in teeny, tiny amounts as they upgrade. I didn't find the characters that give them out particularly interesting, either.

A trite game that copies ”that one OTHER game” to a T without bothering to bring anything of its own to the cauldron. The combat is decent and fast-paced, but gets repetitive fast. Visual cues painted in bright neon paint on top of interactive objests being quite obvious and easy to pick up honestly feels like an insult, and the fact that the game just throws you in with no preamble whatsoever doesn't really help create a decent first impression. Overall, a really mediocre game that feels like a bootleg, despite obvious talent being put into visuals and sound design. What a shame.
I really want to be able to recommend this game but I can't. While the game has very nice art direction and pretty good music, there's not enough here to warrant buying this when so many other roguelikes are out there. The characters feel very underdeveloped, especially the side characters present in the power-up granting Vaults due to how little dialogue they all get. The plot, similarly, feels very lacking outside of "we need to rebel against the queen" due to a lack of exploration on why. The power-ups don't feel meaningful, with a lot of them being +X% bonuses or caring about very specific status conditions that only their Vaults give out. There's only about 7 or so enemies you'll face in the whole game, with 1 of them being a boss you already fought multiple times. There's very few types of maps available, with the same crumbling metallic halls you come across the only type of variety you'll get. The optional content also feels lacking, with only optional variants of the m...
(Never mind the short playtime -- I play mostly offline. Finished the game, got about 50% of the achievements, and discovered a new musician I may enjoy). Love the graphics. The designs are unusual, and the neon contrasts but is used very harmoniously with the stone and metal of the rest of the designs. I was amused by the medievalpunk concept. I am a medievalist, and I am a cyberpunk fan. It was fun to see both mashed together. I believe it could be done better, but it gets points for instroducing me to the idea. The music is good sometimes, fantastic other times (depending on your preferences, of course). The main theme is quite good -- I enjoyed it enough to download it to listen to. The voices are very well done as well. The controls and mechanics are fine -- I was not enamoured by the combat, but I wasn't too frustrated by it either. The story isn't too deep -- the most interesting part are the setting and the characters. I wish we got to know a bit more about them. I grew f...
Though it's a fairly short game it is of rather incredible quality with it's focused and punky art style paired with fast paced and responsive combat. Despite it's short playtime, it has a good amount of replayability with a large variety of builds and different weapon mods to try out.
Good game but so far it appears to have many flaws. The bonuses you can get are underwhelming, and buying bonuses only to for them to disappear having getting hit once, is just bizarre. So much potential but... Its just that potential. Ill keep playing hopefully it will get better. Note: having your build disappearing after EACH level is the worst. In these sort of games you keep the built until you die or finish the game... Not after each level.
Let's get it out of the way: this is a Hades clone. It's got rogue runs with metaprogression, striking and colorful art direction, zippy dodge-based combat, even a queer-coded main character and a boss that puts you down when you die. I played the demo and felt it was a little sparse on content, but it's just a demo - surely there's more in the full game, right? Well, technically yes, but only technically. There are some new weapon variants that don't really change how you approach battles, there are some new enemies that are mostly just reskins of the ones you've already been fighting for hours, and there are a couple new enemy vaults to raid (the equivalent of gods in hades). What there isn't is new environments, story beats, or any meaningful reason to play the game any differently in hour 4 as I did in hour 1. I practically could have just played the demo over and over and gotten a similar experience. Roguelites live and die by a compelling core loop that feels fresh enough to rep...
Great game. It is no Hades but if this hade been with a similar budget it would be a serious rival. It has a unique setting mixing cyberpunk with medieval germany. Everyhting in the game is good I just wish there was more of it. More voicelines, more variety of levels, more bosses etc. The developers have really shown their skill in every aspect of this game and I will keep an eye on them. Played it on both PC and steamdeck and it ran well on both with some minor stuttering when the fights got ridiculus.
