I hate Nexon. I hate them with a passion. They've ruined the only online hack and slash game worth playing by treating their playerbase like absolute nuisances. They've taken down every single fan site that has supported the game and continue to ignore the pleas and criticisms of their playerbase. When I first started playing Vindictus in 2011, I fell in love with the simple but oh so satisfying gameplay. The rush you feel when you finally defeat a boss in this game is unmatched. I toiled through the early levels, farmed for gear, and prayed to RNGesus to enhance said gear. But once I hit the end-game was when Nexon really ramped up the bullshit. Gatcha upon gatcha events. Failing servers (namely Arisha release). Pompous volunteer mods banning well known community members for absurd reasons (You can go to hell Aquasol and Dealer). Now they've taken down all of the fan sites that have been maintained by players who received not a word of thanks or appreciation from Nexon for promot...

About This Game
A malevolent force shrouds the land and monsters terrorize the last bastions of humanity. All seems lost and yet one hope remains: you.
Take control of a mighty mercenary and leap into the heart of one of the most action-packed MMORPG experiences available. Master the art of combat as you utilize brutal combos, devastating magic and the environment itself to wreak destruction on your foes.
This is unlike any MMORPG you've experienced before. This is Vindictus.
Key Features:
- Brutal Combat – Experience a complex and fast-paced combat system that raises the bar for the MMO genre. There are dozens of combos to learn and spells to cast, and mastering them is the key to survival.
- Avatar of War – Choose from sixteen distinct characters, including hulking behemoth Karok and exiled princess Lynn. Each has their own set of skills, exclusive armor and a unique personality. Learn their strengths and weaknesses to conquer your foes.
- Forged in Blood – The monsters of Vindictus are some of the most fearsome you will ever face, so massive they blot out the sun. The greater the beast, the tougher the challenge, and the greater the rewards.
- Brothers in Arms – Some horrors are too terrible to be faced alone. Team up with friends, form a clan, and take on Vindictus’ mighty raid bosses. Coordination is key, and only the strongest will survive.
- Visual Assault – With higher fidelity than nearly every other MMO on the market, Vindictus boasts highly-detailed characters and monsters, explosive particle effects and massive battle arenas.

This game was a prototype. What do I mean by that? Idea's, lots and lots of ideas. The original (Yes there have been several over the years) development team of the game had a vision of an MMO and was one of the first RPG MMO's to break with "tab targeting" and tradition class roles in an MMO. By all accounts they did a damn good job on that front as well. Fast paced combat with some of the most stunning visuals in an "MMO" at the time all while having "most" characters viable in group/solo play (Was balanced out later on so that all characters were viable) At this point you may be asking yourself why the negative review then? Greed. Nexon is know the world over in smaller gaming circles as one of the greediest Publishers in existance. Think of the Korean version of EA and that basically sums up the taste it leaves in most peoples mouths who've played one of their titles. Every single aspecr of the game is tied to RNG (A chance to obtain X-Y-Z) and when you want to improve a shiny ne...
so ive never played this game in my life and im permanently banned on the title screen 11/10 would uninstall again. Update: Someone notified me that the game says 3 hours on record. Trying to figure out how to dispute the ban with the developers. Think I was hacked
I no longer recommend this game because of Nexon's unjust January 2017 perma-ban of player Sanitee. As a Vindictus fan from 2012, I have seen countless players (including myself) leave Vindictus, only to return for its unique combat. It has a medieval taste to it, your actions have weight, and it's dodge or die. The fluid combat system relies on building combos with the mouse instead of your MMO-1 through 9 keys. Gameplay relies on timing dodges and slamming combos in between. Sanitee created fansites, contest-winning art, YouTube channels, and databases FOR THE COMMUNITY. Forum moderation deletes negative threads and difficulty working with customer service creates a global sensation that the players are not cared about. P2W? More like pay to get ahead or pay to look pretty. Real cash cannot save you from end-game gear-destroying RNG. Real world currency can buy rare cosmetics to sell for in game currency to buy pro level equips. Feel free to be the cheapskate we all are, grind you...
Nexon, Thats all you really need to know.
RIP Vindictus It was a good Game, but they destroyed it.
I've been playing this game for a few years at this point, and am motivated to leave this review in the wake of something that has happened in the community recently (which is why I installed the 'Steam version' to review it - because if you post anything 'negative' on channels they control they'll just delete it and ban you), though I will do my best to remain objective: Pros: *Great combat system. *Enough character/weapon types that you will probably find something you like. Cons: *Upgrading your gear usually destroys said gear (without using 'paid items'). *The amount of RNG is nauseating. *'Paid' items are very expensive. *The security program the game uses (BlackCipher) is incredibly invasive in terms of what it scans and probably uses more CPU power than the actual games does. *The real 'con' of the game is that the Nexon NA staff seem to treat players/the community like 'annoyances' rather than an important part of the game. This once again was made clear very recently ...
Game used to be amazing but up until the recent two or three years they jus stopped caring about their player base and ignoring us completely or banning us all on false accusations. I've spent about a thousand hours on this game before it popped up on steam so I hopped on to see if it had gotten any better but I was wrong. The game went from what was a semi pay to win to all out "Give us all your money or you will not have fun"
Nexon is terrible, enough said.
have played the game since 2009 if i remember that far back correctly. the combat system is the best ive ever seen and wish other companys would use it so that it wasnt wasted on this absolutely **** company nexon NA. they do not care in the slightest about their playerbase they are just animals they farm cash from for cosmetics. used to play every day with my friends until they released an update that introduced a bug that would ban you randomly and my friend got banned along with thousands of other players. yet sadly it took them roughly 6+ months to unban people and by that time most of them didnt even want to play anymore. its one of the most fun and unique games you will ever play but sadly, its very buggy and the company dosnt give a damn and there is barely anyone playing anymore. i love this game to death but i cant say it would be worth a new players time. great game worst company on the planet ill rank them one higher than EA even.
