CyberLink PowerDirector 21 Ultimate

So with over 200 hours of time with this product i can confidently say it is NOT WORTH IT! Pros = easy to learn and lots of presets for beginners cons= crashes, freezes and lags ( note I'm running a new i5, 24 gigs ram and a 3070 graphics card!) I have lost multiple projects to this program's instability, also the Directorzone site is super sketchy and i cannot find an option to delete the account. the only fixes for the programs issues are just tips on how not to make it freak out! come on guys, do better! In conclusion, if you are someone who just wants an easy video editing software for occasional use don't use this, its way too pricey. if you want to use this as a hobby, don't do it. if your wanting to learn to be a pro stay away at all cost!

Sweet baby jesus is this thing broken beyond repair! Ok so I've used Powerdirector from 16 all the way to 19. I decided to try and buy this version from Steam as the original website isn't allowing us to download any versions before 2024. The 2024 version is shit since they've changed the UI, removed tools, etc. This is just a buggy mess. I don't wanna hear about updating drivers and all that jazz, because my drivers and everything are perfectly fine! The problem is that this piece of shit program crashes every single damn time! I keep trying to edit, produce and it just crashes.... What's the point of having a software if all it does is crash every second it can!? Cyberlink is such a shitty company and their support is garbage beyond belief. I've been a supporter for a very long time so I can safely say it's no wonder why so many people are leaving this program. The lack of optimization is unreal! The constant lagging on big projects. So I worked on a project and while working it crashed twice and then during render it crashed again. Seems a huge waste of money. I didn't try Photo Director but did use Power Director but such a buggy app is useless and I lost my money

Easy to use and good power for my editing needs. I am still a novice but program makes it easy

It's absolutely great. I'd never done a YouTube video before, and this software guides you through the whole process.

So far, I have only used this program to make short (30 seconds or less) animated gif memes, but this tool has almost everything I was looking for in a video editing tool. The feature I like the most is the internal trim tool that lets you make many small video clips from a single larger video. The only issue I have encountered so far is that the final output video is limited to predefined resolution ratios (canvas size). They have most of the common ratios like 16:9 and 4:3, but there doesn't seem to be a way to customize the output ratio. This isn't a huge issue, but the result is that the final output has some extra bloat that I would have preferred to crop out to save space.
