About the Game

The second scripture in the Blasphemous series portends the return of The Penitent One, with a story that continues from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC for the original game, where The Heart in the sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child.

Awakened in a strange new land, and displaced from his final resting place, The Penitent One is thrust back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection, with no other option than to explore this perilous new world and uncover its long-forgotten secrets.

Hordes of grotesque enemies stand in your way, awaiting final judgement by the brutal hand of the Penitent One, with titanic twisted bosses also lurking in the darkness, waiting for their chance to return you to the grave from whence you came.

Taking them down won’t be easy, but with Blasphemous 2 offering more chances to customise and improve your skill set, along with several new unique weapons to wield with righteous zeal and unending fury, victory might just be within grasp.

Ultimately, only one thing is certain… Penance Never Ends

Explore a fuller Non-Linear world

Having awoken in a strange new land, your journey starts anew in a series of enchantingly grotesque landscapes, oozing Gothic charm and littered with unforgiving traps. How you tackle the labyrinthian world remains at your discretion, there is no wrong turn to be made, only scores to settle

Savage Combat

The Penitent One shows no mercy, and with a series of new weapons offering new moves, brutal executions, and expanded combos, destruction will rain on any that stand in his way

Customize your playthrough your way

Blasphemous 2 offers up new ways to play, with the ability to customise and improve your base skillset, alongside several new unique weapons to unleash devastating attacks on enemies

Grand Intense Boss Battles

Hordes of monstrous foes stand between you and your goal; twisted bosses with unique attack patters and sundering abilities will put your skills to the test as you fight to stand triumphant when the dust settles

Explore a deep new world

A whole new world awaits, bustling with mysterious new NPCs to interact with, some will offer aid, some will ask for it, and others will send you on death defying missions to obtain long forgotten items. With so much to see and do, the stories and myths you encounter will help you unpick the games myriad of secrets, granting you a deeper understanding of this strange new world

I played around 40h of Blasphemous 1 and I just beat Blasphemous 2 (no DLC) for the first time and got ending A (a bit over 20h). I love Blasphemous' setting and lore. With that being said, the second game feels a bit more polished and that isn't necessarily good. Let me break it down: - graphics are a bit more clean, which I didn't find necessarily better, and I enjoyed the first games' animations (especially cutscenes) more (1>2); - bosses are much easier than the first game - last boss was a joke (1>2); - the map layout is better and it's easier to know where to backtrack with the "!" In spots you can and should revisit (2>1); - combat's a bit more complex in this one and, especially in the beginning, it felt a bit overwhelming (1>2); - getting around and travelling is more fluid in this game, but I did feel like the use of the different weapons was forced at times. I prefered the first game (1>2); - overall collectibles were so much easier in this game compared to the first and it ...

Pros: - The movement is amazing - Looks great - Decent lore + world building - Soundtrack is good - New weapons - Much better map - Overal mechanics are more polished than the first one - More choices for character builds Cons: - Much easier than the first one - Bosses are often the same size as the player - All the large bosses are criminally easy - 100% of the game is beatable without the block feature - Veridicto is this games easy mode - All collectables are very obviously placed - The Mea Culpa DLC is dog tier (forced to buy it for the true ending + achievements) TLDR: Worth playing but not as challenging as the first one. True torment mode does compensate for this and you can play the most white knuckle game out there.

If you're playing this game for the achievements, don't bother. They are a buggy, broken mess.

For a game focused on combat and exploration, the combat is incredibly underwhelming. You get an obscene amount of i-frames when rolling so it often degrades into spamming B until there's a window to punish, and because of this nearly every boss plays out the same way. Exploration is underwhelming, and the progression is uninspired, rehashing what Hollow Knight and many other Metroid games do. Despite being a "souls-like", Blasphemous 2 plays absolutely nothing like Dark Souls. Bosses are designed completely differently, combat is designed completely differently, and even the Metroid elements are incredibly different, as your access to movement and different attacks grows throughout the game. You have a skill tree on all of your weapons, for some reason. I see absolutely no reason for these progression systems to be in place other than to stretch the game out. The art is phenomenal but the sound design is sub-par. I wish there was more I could praise about the game but it's hard to pi...

I don't recommend this game for 1 simple reason ; bad coding; easy to get soft-locked - wasted 16 hours for nothing. :)

Killed one of the bosses and game glitched because of the projectiles killed me after. the fact this happens to a game in 2025 is wild

Its more Blasphemous, which is a good thing. Definitely a lot less grindy and lighter on the back tracking. Best aspect was the Boss fights, apart from some dubious hitboxes here and there I thought they were a joy to fight and offered a good challenge without reaching controller bashing territory. TIP: once you get the lightning axe prayer it basically turns the game into easy mode and absolutely shreds bosses

Achievement : Defeat any boss without receiving any damage me : I will beat the final boss without any damage. My only complain is the final boss is too easy. maybe I'm just too good
