About This Game

Swordhaven is a fantasy cRPG inspired by Infinity Engine titles—Baldur’s Gate 1, Icewind Dale, etc.—as well as other classics.

You take up the mantle of a lonely adventurer on their way to the barely explored land of Nova Drakonia.

During your voyage, you are met by a dying man who trusts you with a peculiar artefact that will involve you in an adventure of a lifetime, and a plot that threatens everything you’ve ever known and loved.

Some of Swordhaven’s core features include:

A flexible combat engine. Experience battle as a tactician in turn-based combat, or hasten the pace with the real-time with pause (RTwP) mode;
A classless roleplaying system: each stat combination provides a unique gaming experience, distinctive dialogues, and novel ways to solve quests;
A classics-inspired yet modern User Interface with large customization possibilities;
A vast, nonlinear world filled with unique NPCs and multi-solution quests that reward exploration, always offering alternative approaches to satisfy any character build;
Dozens of hours of exploration, from quiet village hamlets to hidden temples of the ancients, horrid crypts, bizarre dungeons, and otherworldly locales…

TL;DR: A low-fantasy adventure from the team behind ATOM RPG, in a setting inspired by the Age of Discovery, with a gradual build-up from zero to hero. A choice between real-time and turn-based combat modes, overworld exploration à la Fallout, and multiple ways to solve problems. And you can punch a dino in the face.
Atomic Fantasy
"We are committed to delivering the BEST game possible to reward your trust," claims one of the first AtomTeam’s updates on Kickstarter, and my two playthroughs of the original ATOM and Trudograd give me no reason to doubt them. Where ATOM looks up to Fallout 1/2, Swordhaven takes a cue from the first two Baldur’s Gates — and, just like ATOM, stands firmly on its own, not copying the timeless progenitors, but iterating upon them and putting a loving spin on the familiar fantasy paradigm. The tributes are on the sleeve — paying heed to the games that shaped the role-playing genre since...

I've previously played Atom RPG from these developers and it's clear to see that Swordhaven is a big step forward in game design, dialogue and quality of life features. There are countless little touches that make the world feel more immersive which is great to see. I'm looking forward to seeing the game continue expand as the early access period progresses as I've currently run out of content. One note to new players is that you can set time to run faster so that your party will walk to destinations faster in real time.

Slow burn, old fashioned RPG. Content so far good, hoping for a great finished game.

3 hrs in and it feels like the original Baldurs Gate, not the remakes. This is more storytelling the narration makes it compelling to listen and enjoy the story. So far I have a strong feeling I will really love this hame thumbs up for now.

Really enjoying this one. Early access, but graphics and gameplay are a step up from Atom RPG. Plays like Baulders Gate with a character leveling system closer to Atom RPG.
