About This Game

Sanctum 2 is the sequel to the world’s first Tower Defense/FPS hybrid game. Pick from four unique character classes and embark on a mission to protect the oxygen-producing Cores from hordes of deadly aliens who are threatened by their existence. Outfit your character exactly the way you want through the new and extensive customization system. Choose your own loadout of towers, weapons and perks, but choose wisely because you are humanity’s last defense against the unrelenting hordes set out to destroy it.

Sanctum 2 is a new game completely rebuilt from the ground up using community feedback and innovative design to really push the bar of what an independent studio can do.

Intense Action – Deep Strategy

In Sanctum 2, you will utilize elements from multiple gameplay genres to succeed. Construct towers and walls during the building phase before the enemies attack, then jump into the fray and blast everything to pieces in FPS mode. You can progress through the single-player campaign yourself, or play with up to four friends in co-op to discover the secrets of the planet LOEK III and learn the backstory on why the aliens are so intent on destroying the Cores you are sworn to protect.

Key Features

Building on the success of the original game, Sanctum 2 stands alone as the only true FPS/Tower Defense hybrid. No other title delivers gameplay that seamlessly combines both genres.

  • Tower Defense – Design complex mazes and build powerful towers to stop the enemies from destroying the Cores.
  • First-Person Shooter – Don’t just sit back and watch, jump into the action yourself!
  • Four playable character classes – Each with their own unique strengths, weaknesses and weapons.
  • Vast Customization System – Pick perks or make the game crazy hard by adding Feats of Strength.
  • In-game Visual Novel – Unlock a comic-book page for every map you beat to discover the secrets of LOEK III.
  • Progression System – Increase your rank and unlock new weapons, towers and perks.
  • 4-Player Co-op – Progress through the storyline yourself or team up with other players whenever you want.

Recently 100%-ed the game. What can I say, this is a gem of a game. I've never played a first person shooter which is also tower defence game before playing this game. For a game released in 2013, the graphics holds up pretty well in 2025. There is still a small die-hard population still playing this game. I met some good people from the the public games. The main game has 4 stages. Each stage has 4 levels each. So the game can be a little short. I recommend you to pick up the DLC's. Especially, because there are some towers/weapons only available (unlocked) via the DLC's. And these towers increase the fun. I would recommend anyone wanting to play this game to pick up the game and DLC's on sale. I paid less than £5 on a sale and got hours worth of fun. Coffee Stain Studios... it's time you gave the people Sanctum 3

Fun and easy to "get you feet wet", and I love seeing all of the Timesplitters' references!

Sequel to one of the best TD game I've ever played, I love both games to death! Gameplay is great, atmosphere is great, balance is fun, and the studio that made the game is amazing. Can't ask for anything more. If you want to play a TD and enjoy yourself while drinking a nice cup of coffee, I can't think of anything better! <3 Much love Coffee Stain Studios!

What an excellent game! Old but so good~ Sadly this somehow plays terribly on my macbook pro m3 max - despite running cyberpunk at 60+ fps. Oh well, if you're on a PC (and most people are) this is a gem. I've played this and the first game for many hours back in the day. Just get it if you like TD and FPS games.

A fun Fps/ tower defense that improves on what the first one did. i do miss leveling up my weapons though Pros: -5 characters to choose (1 dlc) from each with their own pros and cons. -decent amount of perks, weapons and towers (some are dlc) -cool looking levels the details -a good soundtrack -unlike sanctum 1, enemies now can attack you and with more new enemies to break through your killzones Cons: -games kinda short -while having a good amount of stuff to choose and customize. in my opinion there shouldve been more towers/weapons to pick. -some towers and perks are underpowered -no sanctum 3 yet -some of character models haven't aged well. -game is kinda dead you'll find very few matches and to get a coop achievement you need to beat the last level with 4 people 7/10 get it on sale with all the dlc i enjoy it a lot, the details they put in each of levels is cool, the secrets, mines and small lore bits, i wish you could prestige your level rank in this. Also keep in mind it does ...

This game abused me... This game is more FPS than a tower defense game and (at the highest difficult) very unenjoyable.

Connected my Ol' HDD And watched an explosion of old acheivements I got whilst playing years ago as a Kid With a friends old account. Seriously great game. Unfortunately the 100's of hours of playtime have been lost, not the memories. 10/10 gameplay, 5/10 story.
