The first attempt since London Control to simulate a modern european enroute ATC environment. The basics are already built in and it is an enjoyable experience in early access - if you know what you are doing. The devs are quick to respond and new dev versions get published almost every other day. Caution: If you have no idea about air traffic control (yet), this game is not for you (yet). The lack of exercises makes it necessary to either create your own airspace or at least exercise. If you are familiar with ATC operations and want to shape the game together with the devs in their discord - this is for you!

About This Game
Training Campaign
In the Training Campaign we teach the player the necessary skills and concepts to safely handle traffic in Area Control and Approach Control and also the principles of how sectors are supposed to work together.
Realistic UI
The UI of the game resembles the radar position interface used in many centers around the world. Main interaction is done via aircraft labels, which are small UI elements attached to traffic on the radar screen so it is quite clear which label is attached to what aircraft.
Also provided are helpful tools for measuring conflicts and analyzing the traffic situation.
Simplified interaction
One big skill to learn for ATC is radio phraseology i.e talking in the standard way to give clearances etc. To make it simpler for players to learn about ATC we designed the game so that the player just clicks clearances into the labels and hears the clearances given and pilot readbacks.
Electronic coordination simulation
In modern ATC communication and coordination between sectors is handled by simply interacting with the aircraft labels, sending requests and accepting them via the UI.
This is all emulated in the game, but of course, since situations can get awfully complex, expect to use voice communication as well in multiplayer.
Multiplayer
ATC is one of the most COOP experiences to be had and so no simulation of the job would be complete without working together with other people to safely expedite traffic. Almost all traffic for a position comes from another sector and goes into another. Collaboration with neighbors is often needed to resolve problems in an efficient manner.
Weather
Taking wind into consideration whilst solving problems is a core part of ATC work and hence different winds at different flight levels are simulated.
Another implemented realistic anomaly are thunderstorms, about which the player gets mainly information from the pilots, who request headings to avoid storm cells.
Create your own Airspaces and Scenarios
The game has a built in Scenario Editor for creating your own challenging single or multiplayer scenarios. Also, adding airspaces is possible and documentation for that is provided with the game.
Warning
Do not use this product for actual ATC training or in a professional environment. The experience this product provides is an approximation of real ATC work.

User Reviews
I am an ATC student and i wanted to practice in home, not only at work. BUT...The game is not ready to be played. There is a lot of bugs, like when i give a direct navigation the plane does not changing it route. sometimes when i clear new flight level i can not clear another FL to the same plane. Sometimes i am not able to give instructions, i do not hear read backs, also false read back but the plane does the right instruction. And there is a lot of more things.
Not really someone to try out these ATC games as they are usually terrible anyway, as I only stuck to London Control. Though I decided to give this a shot as some others recommended it to me and I have to say it's actually a proper quality sim and has a lot of potential. Similar to another review though, if you are completely new to ATC then it may not be the best for you.. YET.. but I highly recommend giving it a go, it can only get better. :)
This is obviously a very early access game with multiple issues. That being said, the UI is really easy to learn and use, and it doesn't take a massive amount of ATC knowledge to grasp what needs to be done. The tutorial missions are helpful to learn the UI. The scenarios are interesting as a start. There are multiple issues - there are times where I have to restart the game because the UI stops responding to commands to individual aircraft, there are aircraft that never announce themselves into the sector, and you have to move what traffic is responding to your inputs around them, etc... The development team seems very active and open to hearing suggestions/bug reports and I can see the pure amount of potential this game has to offer down the road.
The game is overshadowed by two primary concerns: pricing and technical issues. The current price point seems a bit steep, especially considering the amount of bugs that disrupt game play. I remain hopeful that with diligent attention to these concerns, such as addressing the technical bugs and possibly reassessing the pricing strategy, the game could be much better
Very slow progress. No updates since January. Do not buy!
Work in progress but with a potential to become one of the best ATC simulators
Overall:
The ATC simulator is highly recommended for anyone interested in aviation. It provides an authentic en-route ATC experience without the stress, and the ability to customize scenarios and sectors makes it a great option for users who want to tailor the experience to their preferences. While the tutorial may be difficult for beginners, the simulator's responsive developers and solid foundation make it worth the effort to learn.
Pros:

The ATC simulator provides a solid foundation for an amazing experience.
The developers are highly responsive and open to suggestions, making it easy to provide feedback and request improvements.
Users have the ability to create their own sectors and scenarios, allowing for a more personalized experience.
The color-coding system, particularly the use of red, adds an element of realism and intensity to the simulation.

Cons:

The lack of prior knowledge of ATC-related concepts could be a...
Loving the game so far, great to finally have a game with standard ICAO phraseology. As a 738 driver it makes a change to some other games. Ok, there a few bugs, some of the speeds when read back by the aircraft don't match the speed given eg M0.78 read back as M0.59 etc. and some of the aircraft don't respond to instructions (rare) but I just assume they've had a radio failure. Haven't tried the voice control yet so can't comment on that but sounds promising. Keep up the good work!!
Voice recognition needs improvement. Clicking a label to give instruction must be allowed in voice mode because some of the words are almost never be recognized. Regarding the content of this simulator, it does seem to capture the ATCs experience quite accurately, and the future looks promising.
