About This Game

As of December 4, 2016, the online services portion of Batman: Arkham Origins has been retired. We thank those that have joined us to battle. The Single player campaign may still be played and enjoyed offline. For any questions relating to Batman: Arkham Origins, please contact WB Games customer service.

Batman™: Arkham Origins is the next installment in the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight.

Key Features:

  • The Arkham Story Begins: Batman: Arkham Origins features a pivotal tale set on Christmas Eve where Batman is hunted by eight of the deadliest assassins from the DC Comics Universe. Players become an early-career Batman as he encounters for the first time many of the characters that shape his future.

  • Enhanced Detective Mode: Think like Batman with an all-new Case File system that allows players to analyze seemingly impossible-to-solve crime reconstructions in real time. Combining Batman’s cowl sensors with the Batcomputer, players can digitally recreate crimes and study detailed simulation of the act as it happened.

  • Gotham City will learn to fear Batman: Take back the sprawling streets of Gotham years before its transformation into Arkham City. Glide above or battle your way through new and ever more dangerous districts in the quest for justice. Prevent crimes in progress, take down gangs of violent new criminals and explore deadly new locations, from the impoverished streets to the penthouses of Gotham’s wealthy.

  • Gotham’s Most Wanted: The city streets are filled with more than just Black Mask’s assassins. Locate and take down Gotham’s most violent and dangerous criminals to earn unique upgrades.

  • Lethal New Enemies: Fight new foes such as the Armored Enforcer, the Martial Artist and more – each of which challenge players to approach Batman’s FreeFlow Combat scenarios in different ways. Classic FreeFlow combat is expanded with every new opponent – and with Batman’s abilities to engage them.

  • New Gadgets: Utilize Batman’s signature gadgets or take advantage of powerful new additions such as the Remote Claw, the Concussion Detonator and more. Use the Remote Claw to create new routes by deploying strategic tightropes or directly attack enemies by stringing them up from vantage points. Ready the Concussion Detonator to stun and disorient groups of opponents in close combat.

  • New and Familiar Characters: Experience a fresh take on iconic Batman characters including Black Mask, Penguin, Deathstroke, Bane, Deadshot, Anarky, Captain Gordon, The Joker, Copperhead, Firefly and others yet to be revealed.

I feel like people are trying to gaslight me into believing this game is anywhere near as good as the other arkham games. Full of glitches and borderline unplayable at points and the gameplay does not feel fun like the other arkham games 5/10 at best

A very good Batman game and one of my favorites from the Arkham series, even if it wasn't done by Rocksteady. It feels really good to bring justice just in time for Christmas! Things I liked -Christmas setting makes it distinct from the series -Stealth, combos, and gadgets allow you to be the Batman -Origin story for some of the characters -Troy Baker as The Joker -Fighting Deathstroke Things I didn't like -Some glitches, especially in closed areas

I was so excited to finally play this game after play the others in the arkham series, but there are way too many bugs to continue a play-through and enjoy it. The bosses keep fazing through the floor making it so I have to restart or they would abruptly finish before I got the first hit in. If I did manage to get through a boss the game would get stuck and force me to restart the checkpoint again, restarting the boss. I would recommend playing Arkham Knight instead.

It's like a fanfiction version of the first two games, as envisioned by impatient teenagers who never read any of the comics. If the series had actually begun with this instalment rather than this being a prequel, I don’t think I would have tried any of the others. [i]WB Execs: 'We can't wait for Rocksteady to develop the next game with the level of quality they insist upon. What can you give us by the end of the year to tide players over?' WB Montreal: 'Can we pretty much reuse all the same assets?' WBE: 'I don't see why not. Just change the graphics on one or two powers. What else did you have in mind?' WBM: 'Well, you know how people loved the way Rocksteady made them feel like Batman by allowing seamless travel and smooth, powerful fighting? We thought we'd switch things up by making the grapnel much more limited in range, with many more ledges that are un-grappleable. And we'll multiply the number of enemies in a fight, especially when crammed in close quarters, and t...

How it all started, Arkham Origins sets of an epic start to Batman's journey to become the Dark Knight, all the classic villains mischievous as always, the fight sequences don't dissapoint they're identical to the Arkham Trilogy, story is decent, the suit is badass in this game. Definitely a good buy if you've enjoyed Arkham games before!

Excellent gameplay for an underrated Batman game that's weirdly only accessible on PC after having a relatively short shelf-life on console. I'd recommend Arkham Origins for more committed Bat-purists who prefer a slower burn to the more manic Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Origins - review This is another tough recommendation. I'll be brief about it. The main problems are with the encounters: something is jarring the fights in this game. While the combat has been made a bit more beginner friendly, the difficulty and variation between fights is worse than it was in AA and AC. Also, the stealth sections feel similarly uninspired, I don't know whether it is just fatigue from the previous games or if the stealth and combat really are just worse in this game. The best part about this are the graphics. The open world feels bland and quite boring however, but the indoor areas are really well lit and designed. That is about the only stellar part of this game, all the rest are quite mediocre. It is not the worst game ever but it falls short from the perfection that was Arkham City, by a lot. The gameplay just isn't as fun as it was in AC, neither is the story (which is good enough however). This is about 6½/10. Not the best... not the wor...
