Good point and click hidden object. Also like the rest of the seires a follow the ghost style, only draw back to this one is how unPoe like Poe acts. It's not too bad though.

If you enjoy hidden object games, the Midnight Mysteries series are the best you'll find on Steam. No, they're not as good as the Mystery Case Files series but they're damn good in their own right. Each game have interesting historically based stories with hidden object goodness, mini games and bonus levels. There are even Steam Achievements. I also recommend Sherlock Homes: Hound of the Baskervilles and Season of Mystery: The Cherry Blossom Murders if you're looking for HOG games with Achievements.

Tentative positive. It's not great, but for genre junkies like me, it's worth a play (especially on sale). It's a good passtime for a few hours, especially if you complete everything. For one thing, it's the most challenging Midnight Mysteries yet. It's still extremely linear, and woe be to he who forgets to click a clover before solving a puzzle, but getting through the game and the bonuses can lead to some hair loss, without feeling like it's been overly unfair. The only exception is the quality of the Hidden Object scenes themselves; they're very substandard, with almost everything being brown-ish, a low resolution that makes it nearly impossible to differentiate, and an inordinate number of things aren't in logical locations. One of the touches that was nice about #3 was that everything looked drawn and rendered just for the scene; here there's lots of re-used objects with wrong lighting or hidden in edges they would never be in real life. In other words, it's lazy. The plot and...

This is probably my favorite of the Midnight Mysteries games. The resolution is very good, and the puzzles pretty well tied to the Houdini theme. If there's one complaint, that would be not enough Hidden Object puzzles in the story mode. I like this series, and hope they make more.

This game was a lot longer than I expected. There always seemed to be a new room and the artwork was great. I found the mystery challenging but fun. I liked this game overall

The Midnight Mysteries series contains some of my favorite hidden object games. These are the more typical hybrid type games, that have some adventure elements (puzzles, moving between locations, talking to people) as opposed to the find-objects-only style. Midnight Mysteries are interesting in that they are based on real historical events, then add some fictional what-ifs to fill in blanks or give alternate explanations for known events. As a result, not only are the fun as a game but they spark some interest in reading about the real events on Wikipedia. MM4 goes into the death of Harry Houdini and proposes a little mystery, that maybe the accident that sped up his death was actually intentional, and if so, who wanted to kill him.

Another in the series of lunch or break time point and click mysteries on rails. This one had more complex puzzles than the past three, but even the hardest were doable in a couple minutes. The scavenger hunt scenes were good as always. MM4 seemed to have a nagging lag in object activation and in some animations -- it's not enough to be unplayable but it is noticeable for me. Lastly, the story was...ok. It seemed like a stretch at times, but it was good enough for a few bucks. 6/10
