A solid beta so far and shaping up to be a good "sequel" to it's baby brother Dungeon of the Endless, this frantic twin stick dungeon crawler / tower defense hybrid will keep you on your toes while being delivered in the characteristic flair of the Endless franchise. Graphics are stylish, flat to cartoon shaded models with enough pop to sell the lived in, mysterious space station you're delving over and over. Combat is closest to and ARPG like Diablo or Path of Exile, although expect to be lining up shots a screen-length or two longer than those titles. And as you have to baby sit the crystal that serves as your mobile key through this place, the tower defense side of the coin lets you setup defenses for resource nodes across the explored dungeon to help ease the difficulty in hard to defend dungeon layouts and mad crystal dashes. And there's been plenty of difficulty so far, similar to my experience with its predecessor - you'll be juggling the resources you do manage to get expl...
Very enjoyable. A lot of work was done to make the solo experience more enjoyable, more so than other action tower defense games, including Dungeon Defenders series or Orcs Must Die 2/3, for example (all of which are games I love). Super excited for this game to fully release in May.
Like: Familiar play: resource generators, dust needed to power rooms, research consoles, etc. Range indicators for placed turrets are great. Two equipped weapons to swap between is a nice improvement. Mob spawn points lists type and weaknesses help me remember mob counters. Exploding containers are useful. Char/companion with direct healing as an ability is fun to have. Turrets gain experience and can be upgraded w/o research console. Everyone can repair turrets. Teleport to crystal is useful. Dislikes: Feels like aim assist is a necessity for mouse aim; likely skill related, but my experience is that w/o aim assist, my controlled char misses even when I have the mouse pointer directly over a target. Holding space and then moving the mouse to tell companions to "stay here" can result in the player inadvertently selecting "call crystal", especially when already engaged in a fight and attempting to shoot at mobs while also telling the companion to stay put so you can move to another ...
I'll start out by saying, never head of the Endless series before. But goodness gracious am I happy to have gotten my hands on this game here. A roguelike tower defense ain't something everyone could just pull off, but the lot working this is doing gods work. It can seem extremely overwhelming upon starting out, but once you get a hang of it, along with working with Co-op buddies, or AI' Allies, game gets a -lot- better in general. There's a few things that needs to get a bit of spitshine imo, could use some more enemy types, some extra dash of this, or a little bit more of that. But, if you have friends too play with, and you're ready too take on the Endless Dungeon, I'd highly recommend it.
I've dumped 260 hours into Dungeon of the Endless, and this game right here is everything that I wanted that one to be. Once they work a few glitches out, it's going to be way too good, especially co-op.
Good stuff.
This game is great, there's so much content even though its a beta, and its way of unlocking meta-progression feels actually good, which is a rare sight to see. Overall, this game has lots of pontential for the future and I do recommend trying it out rn. Its a solid 8/10 in my books mainly cause it lacks a bit in variation of turrents and for some reason the guns seem to be always the same (maybe they are weighted a bit?). Anyways, give it a shot, you'll have fun even if you play solo
Very fun game! Good mix of tower defense and have a light feel of a game like Lost Ark or Diablo. The beverage booster could use a little work because as of now I'm only using the medkit booster because the downside of the other beverages just have too much of a downside to them. Piercing damage of some of the slower/shorter and long range weapons could help out a ton as I would not use most of them as of now. Description of weapon elements could be great help. Great game so far! I enjoyed this game and hopefully this game will be even better when it is out.
Dear Amplitude please get rid of Denuvo DRM.
