This game has a LOT of potential and with some polish could be amazing. Stuff like voice acting, a linear story, and more environments could be a great start.

This game has potential, but it lacks some basic functionalities such as: • A menu to offer a draw, resign, or offer take backs • The ability to bring up an analysis board to analyze positions • The ability to flip the board • An in-game chat (either voice or text, and for both players and spectators) • The ability to set custom time controls • The ability to host, and play in tournaments • The ability to explore openings and custom positions • A nice addition as well would be to have a "virtual" chess clock instead of an hourglass Overall if some basic quality of life improvements could be made, this game would be much better off.

There are just so many fundamental mechanics missing. The only way you can move is by dragging the entire world with you hand which is very nauseating. There is no way to open a menu to resign or leave a match. You cant speak or chat with your opponent, there is only three time control modes. You don't have spend very long to realise this is a shit game, chess in table top simulator is literally a million times better and doesn't make you want to trow up every time you move

Could not even play chess, setting menu is useless, can't move, can't pick up pieces when spending what feels like forever dragging myself to board, want money back

A lot of VR games are like GORN or beat saber, all non-stop action. But this is a nice game to just lounge in your chair, and take a load off. The pull movement people hate so much isn't really an Issue for me, as it is really just meant to get in position for your game, wherever that may be. Laying on the bed, sitting on the floor, reclining? all doable and comfortably so. However, The main Menu does not auto center when you are done, which is really my only complaint. Couple the comfort with the variance you can have with what boards and themes you want, and you have a pleasantly customizable experience. For the price point, I certainly recommend this.

The game soft locks after i try to promote a pawn. I tried pressing every button on both controllers and nothing happens and it wont let me promote my pawn.

Best way to play computer chess. Chess has always been my favorite game, but for some reason, I never liked playing on computer screens; I really only enjoy playing over the board. With chessVR, problem solved! Playing chess in space, in a medieval castle, in low poly style arena and Japanese-style room.
