The voice acting is peak early 2000s cheese, but it only adds to the “Die Hard on Mars” charm. Twenty years later and modern games still can’t replicate the joy of mining your own escape route like a red planet rat with C4.

User Reviews
This is kind of like the original Half Life's more ambitious twin sibling. Looks just as ugly, but if you are a fan of early 2000s shooters, Red Faction is a great pick for its campaign. I don't think it needs to be said but the destruction physics are unique to Red Faction in this era.

Digging holes in a martian wall while accidentally destroying a nice coporation who didnt harm anyone.
half life on mars
The game is certainly good and the story is great, but one big issue just ruined the whole experience for me. The audio bugged out completely in the last third of the game, essentially making the game quiet most of the time except for some small periods where the audio comes back completely but then goes back to quiet with the exception of either footsteps, gunshots or Hendrix/Eos talking to me, any of these three audios did not work simultaneously in the last third of the game, as only one of them functioned. Aside from this bug, I would recommend the game, but with this bug in consideration I cannot recommend it, it disappointed me. I would rather recommend you watch a longplay of another person playing through the game without this bug.
