About the Game

Great Emission, the biggest anomalous energy blowout from the times of Second Incident at The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, has shaken the world again and reshaped the Zone. To investigate its cause and and prevent future cataclysms is your only chance to survive in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

WAR OF FACTIONS

With the anomalous activity at its maximum, the unstable Zone continues to tremor with outbursts. The transformation of the Zone map destabilizes the fragile balance of forces in the Zone. Hostilities for the new territories, artifact fields and spheres of influence flare up among groups. Feuds and friendships are left behind – now, everyone watches out only for themselves. The Faction War has begun. To survive, join one of the parties and knock out opponents over the Cordon... Or benefit from working for all the factions at once, like a true mercenary.

NEW PATHS

The safe and trusted pathways are no more. Known places disappear in impenetrable fields of anomalies, stalkers and entire expeditions vanish or remain trapped within. Mysterious territories that have been lost since the appearance of the Zone are opening up, calling for explorers. Your mission is to become a pioneer and explore all the new areas that have become accessible in "Clear Sky"!

MYSTERIES OF THE PAST

As a mercenary named Scar, play a key role in Strelok’s fate and discover new details to the original game story, revealing its major secrets. Visit the familiar places as they were before the original game starts and witness the events that shaped the Zone to the years ahead.

Game features:

 • A prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl, that reveals the backstory of the Zone, familiar characters and locations.
 • New types of equipment and weapons: HPSS-1m, hunting rifle, RP-74.
 • New locations: Swamps, Red Forest, Limansk and Abandoned Hospital, full of new stories and tasks.
 • An advanced upgrade system for weapons and armor with technicians, allowing you to improve and customize your favorite pieces.
 • Player's actions can affect the balance of power in the Zone and the influence of factions.
 • A dozen of new anomalies and artifacts, and a new artifact hunting system utilizing detectors.
 • Improved graphics, interface and AI, making the journey through the sinister radioactive lands even more convenient.

Clear Sky: the only game where looting a corpse feels like winning the lottery. Too bad the prize is 3 rubles and a half broken pistol. 10/10

They told me it was pretty bad. Even worse than expected. They told me about a highly intrusive and barely functioning faction warfare system being thrown in your face in the first few minutes. They told me that the subtle, straightforward introduction of the first game had completely reversed itself, which aged Clear Sky like radioactive milk. Quests popping up and being canceled out of nowhere. Urgently asking you to do something before you can even get your bearings. Quests failing while you're LITERALLY doing them. I was told that this is the most broken and inconsistent game in the series and that most of its new ideas to evolve the dynamic system of NPC behavior barely added anything to the experience, except a good dose of annoyance. I heard something about grenade spam and enemies sniping you with shotguns and pistols... And indeed, it is pretty bad. Bad enough that I don't even want to waste my time. In some ways I'm glad I never played this game back in its day. I r...

If I see that this is a game from a Polish or Ukrainian developer, I know that it's going to be great.
Shadow of Chernobyl's Expermental Successor
Coming off from playing SoC made me wanting more from it, cut content, cut missions, enemies, weapons, anything to let me play more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and learn more about the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. This brought me to Clear Sky, the hated middle child of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. Spoilers ahead.
Promising Continuation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Upon first opening the game, I downloaded the SRP mod, for some quality of life changes (like being able to use the iron sights of pistols, instead of a viewed in hip fire), more fair merchants (still expensive as shit), and some general optimization updates. The graphics in this S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game is the best out of the original trilogy (this is before I have played CoP), there is a new Faction War system, and an upgrade system.
The Experimental Faction War and Upgrade System
The faction war system will take up most of your playtime in this game, especia...
