Some games don’t just entertain; they invite you into a storybook world and ask you to live inside it for a while. The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav is one of those rare titles. Crafted by Daedalic Entertainment, it’s a point-and-click adventure rooted in the long standing German tabletop RPG universe The Dark Eye. What makes it stand out is the way it blends traditional mechanics with a narrative that feels genuinely timeless. You step into the shoes of Geron, a simple bird catcher marked by fate, navigating a grim but beautiful fairy-tale setting. The story begins small and personal but quickly unfolds into something grander, touching on destiny, magic and the fragile line between hope and despair. It’s told with a maturity that many modern adventure games lack and it lingers with you long after the credits roll. Visually, the game is breathtaking. Each scene feels like a hand-painted illustration brought to life, rich with detail and atmosphere. Combined with a haunting sc...

About This Game
In Andergast, whose inhabitants are considered to be notoriously superstitious, King Efferdan awaits a state visit from high-ranking dignitaries. For centuries the kingdom has been at odds with neighboring Nostria, but now first steps are being undertaken toward a lasting peace. But a plague of crows troubles the king, for the birds are acting with unusual aggressiveness, even attacking humans. Moreover, there are those among the citizens of Andergast who swear that the crows are bringing them dark nightmares. As the belligerent creatures infiltrate even the castle itself, the king seeks a skilled bird catcher - an opportunity for young Geron to prove that the reputation for ill luck that has followed him since childhood is undeserved. Following an audience with the king, the prestigious task is assigned to him. However, not only does his task prove unexpectedly difficult, but it also turns out to be the first step of the greatest adventure of his life, which will lead him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond.

As with most modernish point and clicks this fails at the basics - puzzles and obvious path. The first bit will waste your time on a UI for a "magic" thing that just looks like UI. The next puzzle is a mixture of the good - using a walking stick, getting an acorn to then "They eat the acorns but shun the leaves" which somehow translates to "Those pigs by your house, you need to give them plumb wine". Even tho I know the solution it simply makes zero logical sense. Same problem as all the Daedelic Point and Clciks. Shame... another, looks great - and the lead unlike in the Deponia isn't completely unlikable idiot.
Very confusing keeping up with the various hints. Had to rely of three different walk- throughs including Steam's Guide. If you didn't complete certain steps in the exact order you can't move on; just too frustrating to be a game that's suppose to be entertaining.
not the strongest adventure game on the puzzle side, but the art, va and overall wordlbuiling is just beautiful, especially for fans of the dsa franchise. i played the german original, what i heared translations are not that great
A Grimm-like fairy tale P&C adventure
This is a puzzle adventure with an enjoyable old school stlye story, in the vein of Grimm tales. The characters aren't very deep, they are built upon classic tropes too, but it is just the theme the game is going for. If you enjoyed those kinds of stories, you will like this one too. The puzzles were overall good, though a few of them were kind of unintuitive and required some logic leaps or trial-and-error.
Proof that point and click adventures don't have to be funny to be good.
A wonderful adventure with memorable characters and soundtrack.
I don't usually play point-and-click games but this was really cool.
