If Alan Wake really wrote this… well, he must be a pretty bad writer, considering his story is full of unnatural, contradictory character behavior, unfunny jokes, and — worst of all — monotonous repetition. The gameplay has been heavily simplified — the enemies, the light, the darkness — to the point where it all looks cheap. The “cool” cutscenes don’t save it at all; in fact, they make it worse.

Just go and play the original game. This DLC makes it even more confusing.
This game is really cool, I liked it. The narration reminds me of The Twilight Zone, but I wish they'd kept the narrator as Alan Wake himself. The combat is slightly better than the first game, but I can't pinpoint why. The story was fun, but you basically do the same thing 3 times, which got a little repetitive. I would've appreciated more differentiation between the 3 time loops. The Arcade mode is fun too, it reminds me of Resident Evil's Mercenaries. There aren't many enemies though, which makes it slow-paced and quite easy, to be honest. Overall, it's a little story, but I would get it on discount only, because the story itself can be completed in 3 hours leisurely.
A fun, albeit short, game. Price is a little steep but I'd say it worth.
Yeah, combat's a bit better but lost its charm.
A fun, albeit short, game. Price is a little steep but I'd say it worth it of you're a fan of the franchise.
I liked that this was an episode of Night's Spring. That was pretty cool!
Edit: It's like a dollar now, I should've waited
Alan Wake but the writers could go wild. 10/10. Love the game, Arcade mode is a lot of fun.
This game has "almost" nothing to do with the masterpiece from wich it takes the name, it's short, has an uninteresting story and the gameplay is quite hard and frustrating, even if you dodge perfectly enemies often hit you anyway, so, not aspect much from this one, just few hours of distraction. My Final Score is
69% /100
yeah it's not worth your time just move onto AW2 right after finishing the original
this games pretty boring. and you dont really need to play this before control or alan wake 2. it is canon but its basicily a filler game. i wouldnt recommend this to any but die hard fans. also the achievements are hard as fuck.
