‘Cyber Blades’ is a sword-swinging action game in which you have to swipe away at arrows fired by the various ninja-style enemies. With its synth-wave style graphics and sounds it certainly fits in with the ’80s vibe, but sadly it is the action that lets the game down. There is no beat-mapping here, it is just random action in which you can listen to one of two tracks, 3 difficulty levels and that is about it. If you play a single game here you have seen all there is to see and do. Sure, you can ramp up the difficulty and maybe chase your own score, but nothing that is going to hold your interest for very long. I suppose the good news is the game doesn’t cost a lot, so those who are willing to endure the same gameplay loop over and over will get their money’s worth here. For me it is the lack of any variety that puts me off recommending it. I don’t expect much from a game that only costs £3.99 and the end T-Rex boss fight was cool, but I just didn’t enjoy it quite enoug...

User Reviews
I found this game quite entertaining! It booted up fine without any issues, the UI is clear and the game mechanics are solid and responsive. The design, synthwave audio track and the TRex boss are all spot on and work very well with the retro feel. From what I can tell it's made by a solo developer and shows a lot of promise of something great and entertaining when it's more fleshed out. It's important to know this is not a complete game like say Pistol Whip, it's worth the couple of $$ if you love the aesthetics, fancy a quick workout & support the developer to keep refining it.
